Ok you just contradicted yourself here buddy... Doesn't matter if some parts or techs came from anywhere else. Its owner & supplier of Toyota, Lexus & Scion is Toyota Motor Corp. You get a O2 sensor, brakes & etc., its labeled box or packaging is Toyota. Some of Toyota's, Lexus & Scion cars may have different managements or techs. But its still considered a Toyota product, hence just badged differently just like a Lexus or Scion.

Listen carefully, Scion will have less quality of the 3. Get over it, Toyota overseas and Subaru variant globally will have the refinement you so crave but a slight price tag increase. That's what he means.

Plymouth Laser RST, Eagle Talon TSI and Mitsubishi Eclipse GST.. which one are you going to pic???? That's right the damn Mitsubishi.

If the Hyundai Genesis was joint ventured with Nissan Silvia and Nissan was selling the car in the US along with Hyundai. You know which car I'm getting right? The Nissan Silvia.

The RX-9 is going to be model after the 1st gen FB Rx-7 just like the FT86 on the Trueno, it will be on the new upcoming smaller Miata chassis, so it will compete with the FT86 platforms.. correction will actually demolish it. N/A 1.6L new lightweight all-aluminum 300hp. It's estimated to be $27-30k for one and if I know Mazda the car will look great and have standard options from release. So no need to add 5k worth of things to your Scion bringing the price up to $28k(assuming it starts at 23k and not 25k)

Also the current Miata is based off of the RX8 so it's big and heavy but still smaller and lighter than the FT86s, the new platform with be even smaller and lighter.

A new Supra would cost at least $40k+ but in that range you have sooo many other options.

I would not expect the new RX-7 to START any less than $35k. You're talking about Mazda's legendary flagship sports car. It's gonna be B.A., its gonna be fast, its gonna be....spendy! Especially depending on how they market it. Highly unlikely they'll go near supercar status with it like Nissan did to their GT-R marque, but its possible. If not, its gonna be in the 370Z range of sports cars.

It would be silly of them to purposefully detune such a historic model to fit in with the FR-S, since they already have a car in that area....the Miata.

The main reason I wanna see an RX-7 revival is because it would further push Toyota to answer with a Supra successor. Mekekekekeke....

Most likely a Subaru. However, I'd like to see what the 2012 WRX STis have to offer when they show up in August. The 2011 Sti Spec C is a pretty good deal for what it has to offer here in Ontario...Hopefully that'll be the same story with the 216a?

Er, where do you get that idea from? So let me guess this straight, for sake of branding Toyota is going to ask its suppliers to provide two different molds of almost an identical car for a global platform just for Scion? It doesn't work that way. Scion cars are identical to Toyota in terms of quality and build. Or can you explain to me the quality difference between a Toyota bB and a Scion XB? A Toyota Zelas and TC?

Scion isn't being positioned as a downmarket Toyota, it's meant to be a sideways market catering to younger buyers.

Where the hell do you get your info from? I really think you need to do more research before you decide to even write back to one of my comments when you have no real knowledge on the company. For real!!! Especially being a Ford owner... LMAO! And the problem with people now a days is they are so f**kin stuck up & full of themselves with having top name brands! Same quality, same mechanics & I would pick Toyota/Scion over Subaru any day!!!

Oh look what we got here a celebrity, ROFLMAO!!! Listen stick to what you know best(below).

My Ford would stomp your tC in the straights and in the turns my man don't get it twisted, and when the FR-S comes out and if you get it I'll continue the stomping on you, that's what I do and what it does on the weekends. BTW I also own an Infiniti G35X and new Pathfinder, I could own a damn Pinto with a 427 in it, so what's your point of me owning a Ford???

I'll be using brand name quality parts "all day everyday". Look at my sig I guess I'm a brand nazi.

As it stands I'll re-quote what I said to you and in defense of the other member:

Wow! This guy actually did some research, but on me instead of what's Toyota Scion really is about... Lmfao! You could laugh bout the whole celeb thing & what not cuz I know what I do & where I'm headed. Thanx for taking the time to listen, the support & networking for me, much appreciated. If its two things I know the most about is music & cars. I been doing music forever & I drive and know just bout every make & model to hit the US. Dude, I could care less if ur car can beat mine in w/e. All the power to you for building a fine tuned machine. One of my fav cars is a classic Shelby. The reason for the Ford comment was because American car owners don't really know much bout Jap vehicles. Trying to compensate Muscle power for other places... Glad you like my sig by the way.

Back to the topic at hand now... I would like to purchase the FR-S asap, but I also might be considering rebuilding a car. Not sure what yet? Maybe a 240, Supra, Skyline & etc. Any opinions from fellow members? Should I just get the FR-S & build on that or build a project car from top to bottom. I'm good in the Nissan & Toyota mechanics field...

I'd say it would be better to look at the Subaru's version, then come back and make choices.

Or, MMC, would work too...

I'm holding out 1-2 years for three reasons:

1) Bugs/kinks. All-new chassis, new-ish engine, etc. Bound to be little things that need to get worked out.
2) Special editions. If I buy the standard version and a lighter track version came out I'd be crying myself to sleep. Didn't Scion have like a barebones TC version or something years back? Esp with this car, seems like it's something they'd do...
3) Buying it used. I'm done buying cars new--knowing that it depreciates as soon as I drive it off the lot is depressing. I'm going to buy a barely used version that a granny bought (you surprisingly find those kinds of people even with something like this).

about the used cars. I would never buy a used car from NYC or Long Island because everyone there drives their cars like maniacs. I only look at zip codes with high retired populations. Old people give away their cars for next to nothing before they move in to their retirement homes...
