Nope! The pads are wearing almost perfectly evenly.

I'll try to make the time to take pictures of the pads that are off the car currently (2 sets) to show how even the wear is. No crazy tapering like on my s2k... :jealous:

And the responses are coming quickly! Yes, I'm referring to radial grooves on the rotor

I'll let him take the blame for this one, since he managed to start glazing the pads while giving back-to-back rides... I think he must have done close to 20-25 laps with almost no cooldown in between

He's asking about grooving near the j hooks on the rotor, not pads Mine have a slight groove trailing them that ends shortly.. maybe machined in, maybe caused by pad material pushed out of the hook, not sure, I did notice it on mine though.

I have slight radial grooves. I should measure the disc width next time I switch pads.

My pads have a slight taper, but no more than 1mm or so. I don't have as much time on mine and have less wear in mm on the C300s

The car is absurdly quick! I just happen to be strapped in for the ride

I have no doubt that any experienced driver can turn in similar if not faster lap times in our car. It's all about proper setup

I'm still a bit upset (okay, pretty butt hurt) that the BRZ is faster than my S2k...

<< not seeing the problem there.

Except pads needed a higher MOT.

What track length/lap time? I haven't been able to do that much with the Essex brakes yet (only Chin has an hour session here) but I will be in March in an attempt to destroy some pads I might switch to some CL pads before then though.

Hmmmm

I have this picture that I took a few weeks ago... Doesn't look like we really have any grooving on the trailing ends.

*edit* looks like maybe a slight groove on the trailing end of the outermost hooks...

I'll check mine again, pretty sure I have grooves, maybe not. You can tell how much I cared about them.

Streets of Willow Springs; I'd guesstimate around 40-50 minutes of straight driving, with roughly 45 seconds in between every few laps to drop off and pick up a passenger. 1.8 miles, low speed course (~1:30/lap). 3 major braking zones; 1 is uphill (into turn 2), 2 is into the bowl (dive in; banking gives extra grip), 3 is downhill on roughly a 7% grade from ~100mph to about 45mph.

No brake ducts yet...

Cool.. I'll see in March how it handles 45-60 minutes at Sebring.

I know you love the S2K and I'm one of the odd people who doesn't miss the car at all I only considered buying another one if the BRZ sucked. Now I'd just buy a FRS for a track whore instead and make the BRZ a DD

Yeah I was talking about where I made a red arrow. Noticed the more inner J-Hooks also have some very slight grooving on yours and mine but it's barely noticeable.

I also noticed my left front brakes sound like a train going "chee chee" at low speeds after I swapped back to street pads. I'll make a sound clip and post it. I'm guessing I might of slightly warped my left rotor.

It's most likely not. I'll inspect it later this week, I just have a feeling something is making the rotor not spin 100% balanced. Like the hat isn't sitting flat so maybe it's hitting the pads for every rotation.

I've only drove my FRS 3-4 times since I tracked back in late December.

Pad deposits. Try to rebed the street pads.
