Jeff will cover this assuming he's not on a plane going to PRI already, but... do you track your car at all? If so, dust boots are kind of pointless anyways, they will melt/become brittle and dust after the first track day or two.

If this is a purely street car in question, wait for the formula kit

I'm hoping to track my car, eventually.

A set of good dedicated brake pads and brake fluid will do the trick. Most people underestimate how good the OE brake system is from the factory. We have the AP Racing kit for our future development in the upcoming time attack season.

You've been more lucky with yours than I have.. after the rotors delaminated I didn't want to run them again

Can't wait to see the Formula setup, the others are overkill for my needs.

I remember someone smart saying that its not recommended to use calipers without dust boots on streets that may see road salt. That seems to put some folks between a rock and a hard place. I want to track the car regularly and daily drive it! What if it snows?!

I'm asking out of curiosity as much as anything else. Plus I just think a nice set of fixed 4+ piston calipers with two piece rotors just looks awesome. I'm not immune to the desire to a bit of functional ricing.

That is actually kind of weird. I don't know how that's possible, but it sure does make for an excellent prop. We must seriously be special if we can be so easy on the brakes while doing the things we do on a consistent basis.

Excellent pictures btw. Are you loving your AP Racing kit? We seriously are in love with it.

Yeah I've never seen a rotor like it either. The pads looked fine still.

Yeah the AP Racing setup is working great! No complaints at all

Got mine installed. Thank you Jeff for helping me out with the issue I had! Btw, I noticed a clicking sound (Sounds like putting a card in the spoke of a bicycle) and I narrowed it down to the contact between the pad and rotors. Is this normal? I'm thinking its coming from the J-hooks. I did notice Hawk HPS pads have 1-2mm more depth then the C300 so it's constantly making contact to the rotors. Maybe that's why it's clicking but I'm not 100%

Edit: Btw I checked the clearance with the OEM spare tire and it fits with a 20mm spacer. I'll double check later to make sure clearance is good enough.

Wow!! I finally got to test the car with the Sprint kit at the track and what a difference. I had a quick battle with an instructors NC MX-5 and after 15+ laps the brakes showed absolutely no signs of fade. The confidence inspired by the brakes made my post my best lap time so far , i went from a 1:31.3 to a 1:29.8 with just brakes . Cant wait to test them out with the R1'S. Ill write a review on my build thread soon.
