Real hypothetical:

If someone has three grocery stores nearby them with anything they'd need to make some random meal, but they have to post on some forum and be like "I looked at these two places, couldn't find what I was looking for, so please internet strangers, help me find these ingredients or places that sell them literally anywhere else but make sure they're right for me." Even though they've been to the third place plenty of times to look for ingredients for other meals and have learned in the past how useful the place is.

So you see this post on the forum and reply "well, be resourceful" because you know they are aware of these other resources and they've just forgotten them and care more about random people doing their work for them.

Why would there be hate on the person reminding the original person that they already have exactly what they need, if they remember to look for it?

This is all... very very hypothetical

Are they new to buying groceries or do they have experience?
Are they trying to make soufflé when they have never even cracked an egg before?

They have the experience. They're just neglecting options they've used in the past for finding such things they need.

As to that, it depends on if they've made an egg before even attempting a soufflé before!

Preparing or cooking eggs is pretty simples.

MAKING an egg would require some very expensive mods.
