I'm too scared to do this, looks great though. Did you just post this in the Edmonton FT86 Facebook group? Looks familiar.

@Nsot Do you live in Saskatoon or Edmonton? I've seen another Whiteout around Saskatoon in the fall last year, mainly in the Stonebridge area. Is that you?

And the final product!

Went for a wash right after, no signs of leaks so far.

6000K HID conversion installed. I definitely need to play with the squirrel finders and try to aim these down a little… I was flashed a couple times while trying them out on the highway. If I can't get them better I will look at doing a true retrofit.

same goes for me, I dont really know the protocol on how many coats you need to put on for it to look good and stay but I really dont want blacked out or heavy tint i want a nice smokey hue but I cant find a DIY where its lightly smoked most are pretty heavy.

You won't need much if you are planning to use VHT night shades. Just enough to cover the light, the more you apply the less transparent the light will be. Start with a couple really light coats then get apply more and more each coat you do until you have good coverage. I would give it a wet sand to smooth it out and finish it off with a couple coats of clear.

When you wet sand do you soak the paper or do you spray your taillights then use the 2000 grit? I'm more worried about the sanding than anything.
@Jlturner was is necessary to remove the bumper for your headlights or did you just do it for troubleshooting purposes?

To remove the headlights you have to remove the front bumper. Its easy but a pain in the ass! I got frustrated putting the bumper back on, lets just say I have lots of spare plastic rivets if anyone needs some!

I wet sanded mine with 1000 grit paper, I wiped the plastic down with a damp cloth and soaked the sand paper as well. It took out all the small imperfections and dust particles that managed to get in the wet paint. It worked great and came out smooth as glass.

These tails would match your new headlights nicely! The Crystal Eyes have a very light tint to them
