Well, now, true, I may be crazy, but, I don't notice a difference in steering comparing our Saturn Aura (with hydrolytic power steering) and my 2013 FR-S.

OP, your shoulder problems are aggravated by driving, not caused by it. Address the shoulder issue first.

One of the best things about the car is the steering and how you can still feel the road. I wouldn't change anything about the steering. Maybe strengthen your arm?

Dude. What did you drive that made this quite a bit firmer?

I am floored that people feel these cars have firm steering.

I drove a Honda Pilot and the steering was super light.

You only new you were steering if you hit something!

Drive anything Dodge, the steering feels like it isn't there it's so assisted.

Same! My steering is so light and sensitive it borders on twitchy.

eh I would say most cars in general have more boosted steering..recently my fam rented a chevy sonic in hawaii and the steering felt like a paperweight compared to the 86's..but compared to other sports/performance cars i've driven the 86 is indeed comparatively light..if we're talking about how quick the steering rack is, that is a different story.

This. I find it a bit heavy until past 10 mph or so. It's unpleasant in our cramped parking garage. Under the same conditions, my TC steering was so much easier at low speed. Literally could do a three point turn with a single finger. Doesn't help they made the steering wheel smaller for 2017.

What drives me crazy is how slippery the leather on the wheel is, especially in the cold. I asked about this here a year ago when I bought the car and the consensus was it would get "tackier" as I drove it. A year later and it's still smooth to the point my hands slip off it once in a while.

I'm with TCoat and Cole as well. You can one-hand (even just fingers), non-death-grip the heavier 17 while dd-ing even while having some fun. Slow speed, city driving and serious fun do need a bit more kung-fu grip, though.

Stop washing your hands and your problem will be fixed.
