15 miles, and you're NOT willing to drive up there to see what's happening? Thats actually pathetic....

It's a large monetary investment that is obviously worrying you and a quick jaunt up the road deters you.

I don't think I've heard of anyone having a valve adjustment, smells like crap to me. (Although there is a common issue with the cam timing and oil control valves, that could just be a miscommunication and they could be chasing the problem as diligently as they are currently capable of doing)

Find out what the CEL code was, we have literally zero information as to what is wrong with your car without that or any noticeable symptoms. If the dealership can't tell you get the car back, they're not doing you any favors.

15 miles away I would ride my bike (bicycle, not motorcycle, I don't have one of those) to the dealership to see what was going on.

I have a 9-5 job. By the time I get to the dealership, service would be closed. Plus I’m now talking to someone who’s works for Subaru of America and he assured me that it’ll be done ASAP. Thank you

SOA is involved now trying to help the retailer get this fixed ASAP.

Service generally opens around 7-730, just saying.

I'm glad SOA is helping, but for the future:

And most of them stay open until at least 6 PM. Some stay open as late as 7.

Never underestimate the value of showing up in person. It's easy to ignore or forget about a phone call or email. Someone standing in front of your desk is not as easy to ignore, especially if they're not showing any indications of leaving until they get an answer. If you show up and your assigned service rep ducks you, ask for the service manager.

I just thought I'll update you guys on my situation. My car was eligible for a buy back. I had my eyes on either a brz performance pack or a Mustang GT. Both great cars and completely different. I loved the handling of the brz, but there were times where I wanted more power and a V8 soundtrack. The Subaru dealership offered me 30k for the 2018 brz performance pack. The ford dealership offered me 32k for a 2018 Mustang GT. I loved both cars, but at the end of the day I felt like I wanted to experience a new car. I decided to pull the trigger on the Mustang. I love the power of my new car. I do miss the handling of the brz. Sometimes I feel like I made the wrong decision. I go through my pictures of my brz everyday. I plan on upgrading the Mustang to make it handle better, but I know it will never be as good as the brz. I guess this post is just to tell all you brz owners to never let go of your brz. My brz was the only car, which made me get used to the handling very quickly. I eventually got tired of it. Now I miss it. Hopefully I will be able to trade in my Mustang for the next generation Brz.

Over the years there have been about 10 guys here that went to a Mustang. Every single one that reported back (7 or 8 of them) said they felt they made a mistake and wanted their Twin back. I guess the gras is indeed always greener...

Or the problem is the mustang.....

Although the current gen muscle cars generally handle pretty well.

Only reason I went with the mustang is because I wanted to experience as many different sports cars as I can while I’m young. Nothing wrong with the brz. Just wanted something different. So far I’ve experienced a brz that handles like a dream and the mustang that has incredible power. who knows what’s next for me.

And that is a perfectly acceptable thing to do. If you just stick to one car (or type of car) you will never learn what else you may enjoy.

the thing is the modding community for the Mustang is insanely vast. You should be able to easily upgrade the handling to a level that surpasses the BRZ.
