Thanks for the updates! My dealer did send the issue up to Subaru, so I wonder since our issues happened relatively close, they used you as the guinea pig first. The cel has not returned, car has been running fine, I've put quite a bit of miles on it since then.

If there's a recall you'll be sent a letter in the mail asking you to bring your car back to the dealer. The dealer will either fix your car while you wait or you'll be provided with a loaner vehicle while yours is repaired. It's all done at no cost to you.

Wouldn't recalls that serious, regardless of warranty, be at the cost of Subaru/the Dealer?

A recall, by definition, is paid for by the car manufacturer. A recall is the most serious step a car manufacturer can take short of a buyback. There's no such thing as a recall that isn't serious; a recall's less serious brother is a technical service bulletin.

I had this code come up after a session at Sebring. Idling in the grid after cooling off for 45 minutes after a run. Car stalled when I tried to go into gear, then after restart wouldnt rev past 1200rpm and labored to do that much.
5 minutes sitting off, restarted again, regular limp mode. Sat for 45 minutes, restarted. CEL was still on but it would rev out. Drove to Autozone to read code. When I restarted the car at a redlight, the CEL went away. Autozone read the code and wiped it. This was 2.5 weeks ago and it has not come back. Dealer serviced it today. Told them of the issue, they scanned the ECU and no codes were found. Found this weird as it didnt happen on track but about an hour after I got off of track. Since then, I've put 2000 miles on the car, including very hard running up and down North Carolina mountains and an autocross. No issues but I have a track day on Sept. 2nd

The FR-S/BRZ had a recall for an error in the owner's manual a while back. Not very serious in my opinion.

So for them, it's worth fixing for pennies on the dollar. Even more amusing, the FRS/BRZ seems like the least-appropriate car for a pregnant woman to be driving (see revised manual pages).

I just got the p1235 CEL come on after 4000kms. The light just came on when I was sitting in the car letting it warm up! Car seems to be running fine though. Did a quick visit to the dealership help you guys correct this problem? Have any of you had the P1235 CEL come back on?
Thanks, Mike |

Anyways the dealer said that the issue was a wheel sensor going bad and sending the wrong info to the ECU.

Code P000A on FR-S 2014
So I've been reading these threads since my cars' engine and CEL light came on. This seems to be a common problem with this model. Mine is a 2014, all the threads I've read are for earlier models. I know the problem is in the camshaft area but do not know where to start specifically. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: Never mind I see the code in the title! It was cut off on my screen. Take a look here: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/attac...1&d=1378232133
