When I pull up it doesn’t take much pressure at all barely any, almost like if I blew on the pedal it would pop up into place. Also there is no noise from the TOB or anything when I pull up. Only the pedal itself making some noise.

My clutch is even with my brake pedal when I pull up on it.

This is not one of those times.

Nope. No rumble until it total blew. It was just a gradual increase in the pressure needed to push the clutch. In fact it was gradual enough that I never noticed the change but the pressure required was much the same as yours. That was why I didn't think there was a huge difference when I drove yours. With the new clutch the difference is night and day. I had simply forgotten that you can push these things in with a feather. I bet it has been slowly getting worse for over a year. The squeal is just one symptom that occurs someplace in the middle and is not the first indicator as we have always thought.

Ah, I totally see it now.

OP, I went back and reviewed. The burning smell - did it smell like burning plastic?

Guys!! I think I have fixed it but I am not going to rule anything out yet.

Just got home checked the clutch adjustment the bolt was loose it was looooow and there was like some dark rings on the front end of the clutch bolt looked like it had went down further almost like it had been sitting there for a while and had moved.

I watched a video on YouTube adjusted the clutch to a higher position and oh my god it feels great! It’s springy and coming up all the way now, when I let go of the clutch fast or slow there is no play at the top for me to pull up with!!!

Now the trouble is that I almost stalled backing it of my garage because the clutch is letting out about halfway up lol.

I am wondering if the nut being loose had caused the bolt to slip down lower and lower overtime and this caused my issue??

Here is a picture of where I have it adjusted to now. The previous spot had the bolt coming through almost twice as long.

This makes so much sense. I remember now, this is how the clutch pedal used to feel and it used to let out at the top almost my girlfriend just reminded me also. My clutch feels just like the new BRZ did today. So here is my theory.

I think the clutch bolt was loose and overnight the pedal slid down the bolt some so when I first tried it wouldn’t work. But after I pull-up the bolt slid back just enough and was grabbing to push the little rod in far enough and then it kind of stayed that way throughout the day.

Kim telling you guys it feels great now and there is no play at the top of the clutch pedal I can’t pul up at all on it.

I guess only time will tell but I tightened that nut up on the clutch adjustment so we will see.

Anyone have any thoughts on whether this was my issue? I feel so strongly that his is my issue.

Definitely ruled out hydraulic pressure a master cylinder now lol

Well now, if that fixes the issue ...... don't fight it .......

It seems like ol @Ultramaroon said something like "You need to adjust your clutch pedal back to the way it was." ........ back in post #4 .......

Yeah I seen that it’s just weird because I never adjusted it to begin with, the. It must have came loose and over time it keep sliding down further and further.

I think me pulling up on the pedal allowed it to come back up just enough so that in the next Press it went in enough to allow me to engage.

The pedal feels strong and crisp just like the one at the dealership today did.

So time will tell if anything changes I will update everyone if not then it seems the winner is......Ultramaroon lol.

Atleast I learned a lot about how to replace my clutch for when the day comes and how the clutch works and the hydraulic system works lol

Adjusting the pedal height would not impact any of the many symptoms that you have mentioned.

I don't know. I'm puzzled about the lifting of the pedal. I get exactly what @Tcoat meant about it hanging up on the way back. The burning smell matches because I can picture the TOB hanging up on the center bushing as it melts. :/

Also there is the mystery of the loose cruise interlock switch. That has to be adjusted just so after the the clutch pedal travel is dialed in.

I'm not saying one way or another about the issue, just that something still doesn't add up.
