RCE T2s have a lot of potential but require some skill with the set up due to 2 way damping adjustability. We include baseline settings, but every car and driver is different and they will need some extra time to get the most out of them. People do mess it up sometimes...not everyone has the capability to get them dialed in on their own. But we are always available to help and I encourage anyone that has them and feels like their not getting the most out of them to just call me and we'll talk. Their not exactly my #1 recommendation for a DD though, which is the topic of this thread but they can ride pretty well even on the crap streets of Baltimore.

That's what I run now. Zero rubbing on track. When the tires were BRAND brand new, I got some ever so slight rubbing angling out of driveways, but that disappeared as soon as the tires wore about 0.5mm. The rubbing was only enough to leave a shiny ring on the tire, but not enough to actually do more than that.

Designing good suspension is hard, healthy skepticism is a good thing, and every setup has it's compromises, even the ones that run >$3k.

I was the guy who had the SACHS coilovers; excellent option for a DD coilover. Very reasonable spring rates for normal roads, the major focus is on having proper valving and it definitely made the car handled notably better. In most road conditions the ride actually felt better than stock, although it was a bit more jarring over large bumps (as pretty much anything with stiffer springs will be).

These coilovers are in that same market segment as options like the Bilstein B16 and Ohlins R&T, basically higher quality mid-level options that are meant to enhance and improve upon factory suspension while maintaining a reasonable compromise between performance and comfort.

As mentioned, I did have issues getting any aftermarket camber plates to work with my coilovers. This was because nothing available worked with the design of the SACHS. However, for your use I'd stick with the OEM top hats anyway. You can get a decent bit more camber, plenty for DD use, with just some aftermarket camber bolts.

I ended up selling my set to someone else, who had suspension goals very similar to your own, because I changed autocross classes and couldn't run them anymore. Last I heard from him he was really enjoying the suspension, and I kinda miss it ocassionally too. haha

SACHS, Ohlins, or Bilstein are all pretty ideal options for what you're looking for.

If you're genuinely interested in the SACHS coilovers send me a PM and I can get you in touch with the right people, there aren't really any distributors in NA offering them for our car so you have to purchase directly from ZF Race Engineering (the performance/race division of the parent company that owns SACHS).

Then went with Tein SRC's. but sold them to buy a Rocket Bunny kit .
Bought used bought Megan's which actually worked good.
Sold them and went back to stock thinking I would have to sell the FRS because of an old Viet Nam back injury.
Tried the Tein Flex a's with the hyd bump stock and they were smooth enough for my back to handle.
Got a new daily driver so I sold the Flex a's to get a more aggressive track set up, Cusco Zero 3r's with Eibach sway bars. . My car now handles the best it has ever handled on track and I have the smooth riding Honda for trips.

Do you still recommend the Bilstein B6 shocks & RCE Yellow springs for a daily driver combo?

Yeah absolutely, and that's what I plan to eventually do on my own car (I'll be testing some things this winter so I haven't done it yet). It's the "easy button" for a DD that's doesn't need to be too aggressive IMO...just put it on and you don't have to worry about anything. Lots of fun.

Says a lot that you’re planning to run this on your own BRZ. The Bilstein are Lifetime warranty too. I know my son loves his 2017 BRZ PP and RCE Yellow springs.

I am a little curious about how the above combo stacks up against CSG Tein Flex A coilovers. They seemed to have been thoroughly tested and getting great reviews.

For me the Bilstein + RCE Yellow package is about simplicity. It gets the drop I want, it rides really well, it's fun, it's affordable, and it's reliable. I love fiddling with dampers as much as the next nerd, but it's comforting to know that I could just put that package on with a good alignment and have a great system that does everything pretty well.

My BRZ is not going to be a time attack car and my tire choice will be reasonable, so I'm trying to keep it as a simple and fun OEM+ type build (outside of testing and developing parts).

CSG Flex A gives you adjustability, performance, and comfort. The HBS has proven to smooth out harsh rides and makes for a DDable package. Custom valving from CSG has proven it’s a very track capable setup. The fact that Mike drove across country through some adverse weather conditions, drove it on track and won is a testament in itself. Do you want to be able to adjust damping and be able to fine tune ride height or corner weights of the vehicle? If so, the CSG Flex A will be a good option for you. If you want to “set and forget” then maybe a spring / shock combo will do the job.
