The last TSB has me cricket free still on '15 FRS. I believe it has to be coming up to a year now or close to it. I only use Chevron 93 but I used the same before the pump replacement and had them.

A 2005 Camry is not a price I'm willing to pay to get rid of my crickets

I sold the Camry to get the BRZ. I replaced my BRZ with a E39 540i. None of these are my daily driver.

I talked to a guy in a parking lot at MCD with a 2017 BRZ and he has crickets with 10k km on the odo.

Why bother replacing the HPFP to fix the crickets? Let's just say you do get rid of the crickets, still got a rattly interior, still have shifter noises, clutch noises, valve tick noises, rpm gear stick rattle, transmission rattle and whine. Stop the car at a red light and you can hear the gas in the tank splashing around ffs.

Why bother? Because I want to, do I need any additional reason? I enjoy the Subie Rumble and don't like the Chirp. If I wanted a quiet car, I would have bought a Prius

This is the TSB 09-54-12R the updated one covers MY13-16. If your car is out of the VIN range im not sure if they will replace it, but if you pay for it they might lol. At first the service adviser told me i had the updated one and there was nothing more they could do it and then later he comes back and tells me he looked up the updated TSB and there were some new fuel pump they can install. My car is under factory warranty so everything was covered for me.

Here is the fuel pump thread for reference: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=111525

I had someone ask me this too. I don't get that some don't get that the chirp bothers some and not others but those that have it dis those that get it fixed like it's manly to keep the chirp.

From what I have seen there is about an 80%+ success rate with the new pump so anybody that it bothers, still in warranty or have a dealer willing to to do good will work would be nuts to not get it done. Sure it is just a noise but if it bothers people and actually works they should go for it.

I have no rattles in the interior.
No shifter noise.
Clutch was perfectly quiet until TOB started to go.
There is no valve tick noise. Those are injectors.
Not sure what a "RPM gear stick" is unless it is a repeat of the shifter.
The transmission is a few inches away from your but so of course you can hear it.
Call total bullshit on hearing the fuel splash around.

It is not a luxury sedan you are going to hear things. Doesn't mean you need to live with something that bothers you if it can actually be changed.

Coming from taking old metro buses everywhere, it's kind of a bit nostalgic when I do hear an odd rattle or two.
