Vin Plates

So far I've seen them on every panel except the bumpers and the roof. Do those have them?

I do not believe the bumper covers do. They are not structural components. The roof may have one under the headliner someplace.

I don't understand why they put VIN plates everywhere. It's not like it's really going to make a significant difference in the value if a body panel has been replaced at some point.

The official statement is traceability for stolen parts/cars. I think if I had stolen parts that the vin would be gone in about 15 seconds.
