How do you know what I sound like at all? Text/pixels do not make sound friend and assuming someones age is a pretty bold and low move when you relate it to how someone communicates. A lot of people say it's a small world btw, you should go talk to them and have a debate about how big or small the world is; your maturity is in question.

Edit: if you even bothered to look my account should show my age, lmao.

I'm not your friend, buddy.

My commute is a 2-way road through windy hills. Because most people don't know how to drive, they tend to drive slower than the speed limit. This requires me to pass them whenever there are legal spots to do so. Sometimes the chain is so long that I have to pass several cars at once. I would love a little extra power (or a little less weight) so I could pass them with a little more ease.

My car is stock and I've owned it for almost 4 years. Obviously it gets the job done, but what is wrong with dreaming about a little more power in the future?

Add: 17 MT with OFT tune, torque dip not even worth mentioning.

I'm sure the AT is fun, but what I like most about MT is that I get to use all 4 limbs of my body at once to be in sync with the car. With the AT my left foot is eliminated from the equation. (No, I don't want to brake with my left foot).

Also in regards to the tune, some people don't want to modify their brand new car.

People literally just have no idea how to drive, and seem to claim more torque than what the 86 has can save lives or make a daily commute less difficult lol

So just because I would love this car even more than I already do if it had a little extra torque suddenly means that I can't drive? How many times have you been on a track buddy?

More torque isn't necessary to have fun in this car, I don't think anyone ever claimed that. But would it make an already stellar platform that much more enjoyable at times? Yeah, probably.

probably because no one ever recalls passing the majority of the commuters they encounter everyday but once a while when they get their ass handed to them by some V8 it gets blown out of proportion and for them it suddenly feels like everyone is too fast to pass everything is relative

our twins should get an automatic counter to see how many people pass/get past

Nothing. Nobody said it was wrong and there are many options for more power. Why are you waiting?

Driving an AT well in manual means you can't be in sync because AT?

Also in regards to the tune, some people don't want to modify their brand new car.

500 bucks for an easy, reliable, open-source, well-supported, easily removed solution to most of the torque dip complaints, and E85 is a riot.

Because I'm paying off my car still and would rather put money towards the loan than aftermarket parts. Also, I live in California and would rather not deal with smog Nazis.

No, I'm saying that I like to use all 4 limbs while I'm driving. My left leg would get upset if it neglected it.

Just curious, do you have a tuned car? If so, why did you tune it?

I'm going for a drive in my underpowered, under-torqued, torque-dipped car and put a smile on my face, with a lot of that smile coming from getting the most out of the car in spite of its pathetic abilities.

Later.

Why not, and because I can. The OFT had a good rep, and I wanted to try E85. It made a huge difference in the 13, not so much in the 17m but I've not tried E85 in the 17 yet. Next summer. The torque dip did not bother me at all in any case.

So you spent hundreds of dollars on an OFT for no reason at all? You weren't hoping to gain more torque/power from it whatsoever?

If you get out of your 86 after a blast down your favorite stretch of road and are disappointed, sucks to be you.

I didn't know you drove an AT! I also drive AT. I feel like the torque dip zone is less of an issue in the AT because of how easy it is to downshift. Requires no effort to get into the power zone lol.

AT gets a ton of shit but I enjoy it.

I have a manual, but the automatic transmission is great. Those rev matched downshifts are so lovely, you can even do it down into first gear! I'd be doing that at every single stop sign/light if I had AT.

I absolutely love the AT but completely understand why MT is the way to go on our cars if you're an enthusiast. Although like you mentioned, those rev matched downshifts create on command pops and crackles at a stoplight if you want them, pretty cool.
