I'm sure I could hold my own in Idaho. Haven't been in a good fight in a while.
Well, that's a start. You may wish to consider having your twin wrapped in camouflage and leave it parked in the barn most of the time.

Here is a little community just north of Boise, that doesn't have any HOAs and an attitude would fit right in.

Check out Owyhee Reservoir direct west of Boise in OR.
When I was driving up there on a tiny road, someone else was pulling a freakin houseboat the other way.
No idea how he got it around some of the corners.

Well, I was just kidding. I am a very nice, gray haired, middle aged guy.

Well plans have changed, I'm going to drive my truck. I hope you are just kidding about the cal hating thing. My plates will be in full view. The flights were like 8 hours with 2 plane changes. Nothing direct. Might as well do the 10 hour drive. I might stop in winnamucha (SP?) if tired.

That sounds like a good plan.

You may consider splashing some mud on your truck, just before you hit the Idaho state line, just to take the shine off of it. Also, glob a little extra mud on the license plates.

Stopping in Winnemucca huh ......?? Oh, I reckon the hotel is still in business ......

Have a good trip!

Well, I am going to be by myself. I wish I could have my beautiful wife with me. Things In our lives have been very stressful lately. Dad in hospital, wife got layoff notice. Maybe some time alone in beautiful country will do me good. I hope Idaho people are friendly.

I only send it thru the wash once a year or so, since the paint is coming off. No shine.

Oh, the folks in Idaho are friendly alright ........ I suggest that you not venture too far up into the mountains ........

I have a cousin that lives in Boise. Her and her hillbilly husband moved there, from West Virginia, about 40 years ago ....... they seem to fit right in.

Seriously, I hope your Dad gets well soon and your wife gets employed again.

Well, I've been looking in Nampa, Boise, Eagle, Meridian, and other neighboring cities and cannot find a single house with a 3 car garage that DOESN'T have an HOA.

Bummer.

Well, now, Sapphireho, when in Idaho ....... use "barn" in your search criteria .... that puts you out in the country away from HOA s .......

Well, We don't want to be in the sticks. My wife wants to still work, plus I still have one at home that will be just out of high school by the time we move, so we need to be close to education and jobs. Plus, I don't want to have to drive an hour to go out to eat or get groceries.

But the 3 car garage is a must. I want to do the Ron_B_Avery thing in one and stack my sports cars.

What's your aversion to an HOA ......??

It's been my experience as a real estate broker for 10 years, that HOA s come in all flavors.

Everywhere from "just being recorded" by the original developer ....... and never picked up on by the homeowners (totally inactive) to the other extreme where the association tries to dictate how to cut your lawn.

I'd suggest you let your real estate agent do the legwork and find out if a HOA exists for a particular property you are interested in and obtain a copy of the minutes of the last meeting plus a copy of the CC&Rs (covenants, conditions and restrictions).

You can always do your own "neighbor review" and ask neighbors of the property your are interested in, if they are "bothered" by the HOA.

humfrz - retired real estate broker ...... and from many other things .....

That picture is from a fantastic campy movie called "Tucker and Dale vs. Evil" and it's brilliant.

10/10 Alan Tudyk performance should sell some people.
