I prefer the older, brighter WRB but I'm biased lol.

It changes quite a bit from 90's to now. Even in this instance where they change it slightly in one model run.

This isn't really the whole picture. I've got two brands of paint on my car that are both the "factory" paint code from reputable manufacturers, the engine bay being the part that is different. It is close but you can tell there is a difference between them. I don't expect UV fading being that the car has been garage kept since paint and has only been taken out and driven about 2000 miles, a lot of which was at night. The exterior is actually brighter, to be honest. That said, the paint guy noticed it and mentioned that I'd need to either need to have them do the whole exterior in the other brand when I go widebody, or be prepared to contact the other paint shop and get assistance acquiring exactly what they used before.

The problem here is more likely that they didn't notice the problem and released the car as a finished product, not that they didn't read the paint code. This stuff happens sometimes. It's all in the steps that they take (or don't take) to correct it.

If anyone is in the NY area, Larry of Performance Auto Body
2460 Charles Ct, Bellmore, NY 11710 Phone: (516) 781-6500

You will get the nearest to factory paint, depth and texture that is feasible. I am plugging him because there are not that many great body shops around. There is one in NJ I know of as well that takes great care.

I'm GBS owner so I'm totally unbiased here and having said that, new one is way better than the old one. I have seen them side by side and the new WRB makes the old one look like toy car in terms of painting. even my friend who owns 14 wrb were on my side.

i like older blue, just like how the pearl white was.

The better way to put it is like this :

12-14 = World Rally Blue & Pearl White
15-now = Blue World Rally & White Pearl.

I'm not joking......that's how the color changed....

I personally like it a lot better lol, either way I got the color I wanted for my car but then seeing the new 2015+ WRB paint just looks a lot nicer.

I don't know if it's because it's something I don't have or maybe it's something that actually looks better in my opinion. The color looks a lot more darker and defined to me.
