This is how I package the random stuff I take along to keep it from sliding around loose.
Some anti slip matting keeps the box from shifting. Have a breaker bar in it, but the scissors jack seems adequate.

I figure that the 20lbs of crap I carry is offset by the weight ive lost with mods...also...id rather be .0001 slower to 60 than without something I need.

If you keep it in the cabin find a way to secure it, otherwise it's a projectile in the event of an accident.

I don't carry anything with me other than the stock tools, but am not usually that far from home or a phone call way from a friend. I think I have roadside assistance through insurance but I've never used it

Holy cow, that's a lot of stuff.

I'll echo the other comments though, you really shouldn't need a breaker bar to get your lug nuts off. They're only supposed to be torqued to 89 ftlbs.

Years ago one of my vw's came with these plastic cargo blocks with Velcro on the bottom- you could link them together to make walls/blocks in the trunk. When I traded the car in I kept them and move them to each new car. Super handy, I think they sell something similar on Amazon.

Hell, it's a projectile during normal driving.

I've had my dash apart trying to redesign my homemade phone mount and put the dash trim pieces behind the seat and forgot about them. Then I took a couple of hard turns and heard crap tumbling around behind me. Sure enough, now they have nicks and scratches.

Talking

6:30 AM, I forgot I had my coffee mug kind of wedged into the door pocket one morning on the way to work. It has a lid but I must not have closed the sippy opening. There's this one light when I get off the highway- you go down a hill and take a left through a very wide open intersection- and the light was about to turn so I punched it and kind of drifted through the intersection (oops! ) because there was no one else around. And I have an FRS.

Talk about projectiles! I counter steered and the rear end whipped into shape and I got a hot projectile splashing on my junk. Not burn hot but get your attention hot. Luckily I wear dark blue shorts at work but I was wearing that fucking coffee all day long. I smelled fabulous.

A long time ago I used to carry tons of tools and about every external part needed if an alternator crapped out, water pump went, broken belt, etc. It was easy and needed seeing as I drove junk.

Today, I carry a cell phone and CAA and have emptied out the junk in the trunk. That said, I'm never far from a major centre.

Me with my year round daily driver from 2000 to 2003.

In the trunk at all times:
Trolley jack
Breaker bar
200 piece tool set (mechanic grade)
Assorted v belts
2 gallons of prestone and water mixed
Can of either quick start
Dozen or so assorted fuses (the little round glass ones)
Assorted 12 volt twist in bulbs
Spare set of wiper blades (the vacuum powered wipers tended to fling them into space)
Brake fluid
WD40 (gallons of the stuff to dry the plug wires when it rained)
Spark plugs (in case the WD 40 wasn't enough)
A spare manual choke cable (They had to bend in a weird direction and broke often)
At least 3 quarts of oil
Tow rope

And... At one point a spare clutch which I ended up installing in a field on the side of the highway since I sucked at guessing how long the old one would last when it started to chatter.

If you need extra long breaker bars then your nuts are either on too tight or have not been off for maintenance in enough time for them to rust.
The scissor jack provided with these cars are more than up to the task of a simple flat change. At least they are not these damned unpredictable things where you had to pick the front end up about 2 feet in order to change a tire:
And when the rusted bumper mounts failed and the car dropped, landed on the brake drum and ruined all sortsa stuff your day was ruined. Don't ask...

I keep a long handled 1/2" ratchet with a 19mm socket in the car anyway because that's the size for the hitch bolt for my bike rack. I like to check that it's snug sometimes on long road trips because I usually have a couple of thousand dollars worth of bikes back there.
