For about half the year I would need to use the 46 bucket method!

I park outside under a tree, so I clean my windshield like every 2 days. Other then that I wash my car 2-3 times a year before big meets just because it gets dirty again right away.

LOL I think that the guys in the tropics have a totally different definition of what is "dirty" then us northerners.

Possibly. But I have had multiple people think my car is silver instead of white.

But let me get an example from the last touch less wash I used that missed a spot to compare.

In the summer, it stays pretty clean.

I give it a proper hand wash about once a month and I'll take it to a coin-op for a quick $4 spray down just before car meets or if it's gotten bad due to rain or track grime. It works out to about once a week or two, depending.

It gets full detail treatment (wash, clay, wax) twice a year, once in spring after the road salts and dirt are removed and once more in fall just before winter. I should do it a bit more often really but I'm lazy and it's already a stretch to do this much.

Car is daily driven in the winter so I give it a $4 coin-op spray down about once a month. It's right before it reaches the point that people might mistake the colour for Charcoal...

In general, it's cleaned when the anxiety it gives me overcomes my laziness.

Do they use the beet juice on the highways up there in the wilderness or is that more of a southern Ontario thing?
Since the whole idea of the stuff is to make the salt and sand stick better it does a great job of coating the car.

Nothing wrong in washing car every week.
Before shoulder surgery I washed my car every other weekend. My car sits 24/7 in the hot hawaiian sun & salt. For now I take it to a detail shop once a month for a wash & detail. In between I wipe down my hood, roof & trunk with Optimum Instant Detailer. Yuh, know the areas that's makes the car look sexier. LmaO!

We primarily use chemical de-icers and salt. There appears to be some talk in town hall about trying beet juice but it sounds like there may be problems due to contracts in place for the materials we already use.

Plain salt is bad enough but if they start using the beet juice things get far worse. I am glad they use it since it works but damn the stuff is messy.

Maybe messy but is environmentally safe and doesn't promote corrosion like salt does. After seeing what the suspension and subframes look like after only 2 winters, I'll take the mess...
