So, I just put a scope down the stock midpipe and confirmed that the resonator is a straight-through design. Since the rules use the word "baffled" when referring to replacing it, it seems their definition of baffled includes straight-through designs. (Unless they are mandating that a stock part replacement be functionally different than the OEM part..which seems unlikely)
I still think the cars are quiet enough for a single resonator, but is seems that we basically just need a resonator when we replace each part. - 2 total (And the muffler replacement needs to be a certain length) |

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised to see further updates to the rules as these things are hashed out.

Basically for the exhaust rule currently the midpipe needs to be resonated and the muffler section needs to have a muffler. There is talk of not allowing homebrew exhausts/

Is there any value for us to have an oil catch tank or is that just added weight?

There's always value in a catch-can for stability sake but in a street level class it's not a huge need. It won't make you go faster if that's what you're asking.

Assuming the above is true, does anybody know the reasoning behind allowing a track pipe w/ a 5" muffler (6 lbs per Nameless) and not allowing a track pipe w/o a muffler (3 lbs per Nameless). Since the weight difference is very small, it is hard to believe that weight is the reason. I also don't see noise as a reason either, since the track pipes are not loud. What other reason would there be?

They put the offset bact to 40mm in the rules. (Which is great) but the blurb on the SCCA website has not been put back to 40mm yet. I hope they update soon.
Also, I noticed TR updated their SSC wheel offerings with a 17.0lb OZ wheel and the NT03RR at 17.15lbs. Last edited by Twinz; 10-03-2017 at 10:56 PM. |

I really wish the NT03RR was cheaper. I think it's a great looking wheel. Although I wish the offset was lower too.
