Reread the alignment section again, crash bolts are manufacturer approved parts for aligning the car, they're still allowed and probably why they're specifying the 14mm spc bolt so you can put it in the bottom hole and use the bottom bolt in the top hole.

I think wheel/strut clearance will be the limiting factor on front alignment. -Particulalrly with the new offset specs.

It is the limiting factor. The 8" wheel at about 3 degrees of camber rubs the shock. Might also have the tire rubbing on the spring. I still need to play around to see what camber level the rubbing goes away. Was going to remedy with a 5mm spacer on the 45mm offset wheel, but that's now out...

That +43mm bit is a damn lame update to the regulations.

Authorized Parts
• Parts superseded by Toyota® or Subaru® may be used on either vehicle.
Does this allow for anything fun? Blue limited parts on a standard BRZ?

I sure as hell want it too... just to add a little bit of personality.

The muffler and midpipe (as shown in the figure below) may be substituted provided the system exits the car in one or both of the original locations.
o “Track pipes” and “straight pipes” are not allowed.
o Materials are restricted to steel and/or stainless steel.
o The midpipe must include a functional baffled resonator.
o The muffler must include a baffled or chambered section with a minimum length of 5 inches. o Material for cosmetic exhaust tips is not restricted.
This makes me feel that canister mufflers aren't even legal.

I can't help but think they are steering people toward keeping the stock exhaust without actually mandating it.

Will baffled midpipes be the big issue with most of the aftermarket exhaust or the 5" muffler?

I guess it depends on what "Baffled" means. It sounds like like it means no straight-through resonators. They have basically required weight and restricted air flow in the exhaust by requiring *two* sound-control sections in the exhaust and baffles.

The stock exhaust seems to do that well enough without spending extra $$$. (for those of us that still have stock exhausts laying around)

I think the best solution for exhaust is going to be buying an axleback with a baffled muffler, which there are a few options for (though it limits the options quite a bit), and keeping the stock midpipe.

Hopefully they clarify and straight through resonators are deemed legal, otherwise the exhaust rules are pretty lame for SSC.

Pardon my ignorance but are extended wheel studs allowed in SSC? I've already broken 3 wheel studs and looking to replace with ARP. I just bought the car used and the previous owner must have over torqued the lug nuts.

Wheel spacers allowed too?

Work dual exit muffler seems like it would play by the letter of the law but not the spirit, no mention of if the exhaust must pass through the muffler...

Edit, sorry I meant Work, not Berk.

I think it would fall under "industry standard repair" allowance on the wheel studs, no weight savings, but could be wrong on that given that it's an aftermarket part it could cause someone to nitpick.
