Need advice!!! Low ethanol content and Racing fuel, ok to mix??
I recently filled my tank with E85. Upon driving my car around for several days I've noticed it wasn't running right. I was losing a lot of power up top and my engine was sometimes making weird swooshing sounds when accelerating briskly (imagine spraying the inside of a bucket with a spray nozzle). I also noticed I was getting some knock values on my KC and my IAM (ignition advance multiplier was going from 1 to .88.
So I'm think, something isn't right. (car is completely stock). I tested the e85 gas % and noticed it was only around 50%! So I drove to my local auto store and saw an interesting product called VR Octanium....so I said what the hell lets try it. I poured half the bottle in half a tank. It's about $22 for 32oz! ![]() After about 5 min of cruising around town, I punched it to redline and boy did the car haul ass!! It didn't seem like some placebo effect either. I was instantly hooked on this stuff, like a drug LOL! I didn't think it was going to make that much of a difference but it did! I also noticed no knock whatsoever! But my question is...will mixing the two ruin the ethanol content that's in my tank? I read somewhere that lead will lower ethanol octane ...is it ok to mix e85 with racing fuel? Has anyone else tested their e85 content percentage or tried to mix in some racing fuel? Apparently it can vary a lot throughout the year with the same gas station!

I know nothing about that additive, but if it contains lead it will stuff your oxygen sensors
With low ethanol content you need to cange fueling and timing |

Quote:
Increases Octane Up To 8 Numbers (80 points) Increases Horsepower Reduces Engine Pre Ignition Includes Lead Substitute Improves Throttle Response & Acceleration Cleans Fuel Injectors Eliminates Gum & Varnish Build Up It's probably fine but designed to be run with pump fuel and not E85
