Progressive quoted me the same rate for both the FR-S and the BRZ. I thought the Subie would actually be less expensive, considering the demographic that buys Scions and the number of wrecked tC's I keep seeing.

Wow I guess for NJ ~$1300 / yr isnt bad for 150k/300k coverage - 1k deductable but I've been with allstate for a while so I have it reduced to $500.

Wow some people pay waaaay too much in insurance. After totaling 5 cars (getting hit by drunk drivers... I swear I am a magnet for drunks to hit me) the insurance on my M3 was $105 and I was just quoted $46 a month with $250 deductible and about as high as I could go on coverage for the BRZ.

I used to pay about 105-110/month for my RX-8 with absolutely nothing ever on my driving record. I'd assume the FR-S/BRZ would be really close that. I have Allstate and live in northern New Jersey.

My lower rates in my early 20s though may have been because I'm female though. My brother had similar rates though on a Crossfire SRT-6.

My BRZ costs less on my insurance than a 2009 Corolla XRS... go figure that one out. That said, I'm at 138$ a month with 2 cars, full coverage.

You probably own your house, have a PhD or Masters, insure multiple other vehicles, and qualify for damn near every discount imaginable to get that rate in Harris County.

I'm sure those that pay huge amounts don't want to. It's the combination of the 1001 variables that does it, and the fact that everybody should ALWAYS shop around before they buy a new vehicle, as often they will find the new insurance company to be cheaper than the one they've had for years, or in my case almost a decade. Different vehicle changes everything. You can have a spectacular rate with company A and car A, but ripped off with company A and car B.

State farm ran my Vin and it kept coming up as a Subaru..it was cheaper than my Chevy cobalt SS. They said the price is determined by how many accidents the car make has been in..along with the other things .. she rates would rise if the car models get in a lot of accidents

I'll go through the thread in a minute, but spent a hour on the phone with a USAA agent and they got me down for $460/6 months. 50k/100k/50k, 25k personal injury?, $250 comprehensive, $500 collision, unins motorist and accident forgiveness. $77 a month.

Alright, I've got one for you: After giving my VIN to my insurance agent, he comes back to me saying that the VIN is for a WRX STI. I try to explain to him that it's a completely different car, with no turbo and nowhere near the hp, but he says according to his computer, it's worth the same amount. He wants $730/6 months.

Anyone else have this issue?
