Telescoping feature? Like the steering wheel?

Don't buy a demo car. If a dealer tells me to take a car for a test drive, I drive carefully with the assumption I may end up owning it. If they say it's a demo, all rules go out the window.

If they give you a discount that sound fair to you then go for it!

When I went for mine, it has 7 miles on it. I drove it carefully and put on a mile. Came back next day to fix and complete dealer.... Someone put another mile on my car

Anyway, lol.... Subaru of Cherry Hill in NJ got a car in with 600 miles. They were trying to sell for MSRP.... And the owner's wife was driving it for a few days, adding more miles..... Smh.

I didnt even test drive mine before i signed on the line. From the time that it arrived, to me filling out paperwork was like maybe 10 min. I had to wait for the inspection to be finished and them to prep the car for me. They wouldnt let me have it with the plastic still on the seats and vinyl still covering the body...i asked.

If you're not planning on modding it enough to void the warranty than it could be a good buy with the extended warranty. I have a lot of customers who prefer the Certified Pre-owned option as a way to have longer coverage. You don't save much money over a new car, though. The dealer will probably try to tell you the mileage costs work out to about $.25/mi like they would on a lease, or about a whopping $75. You'd do well to try and negotiate the price down, anyway.

I wouldn't be worried about someone beating on the car. Unless the entire sales staff literally gives zero shits about the cars on their lot, I don't think anyone could have done anything bad enough on a test drive to potentially cause problems in the long run. And if they do, something should probably manifest in the 6 years you have it under warranty so it'll get fixed fo' free.

My only question: is it the exact color/trim/transmission you want? Because if it isn't, don't bother! Wait 'til you can find the right one.

Guys,
Statistically most people do not own cars purchased beyond 5-6 years or so. Are you the type who keeps a car forever? Me? Nope. The car is warranted. The car will likely live a long and reliable life no matter how spirited you or others are behind the wheel (I didn't say abused). One must work pretty hard to break a modern car these days. Most dealers protect their assets. They want their sales agents to sell cars, not get into accidents, damage their expensive rolling stock or be tied up in some form of litigation. Most dealers don't let prospective customers abuse the inventory because it isn't good for their insurance, salesmans life and customers trust. If you can get a new demo car for a used car price (think 2K+ discount) then go for it, drive it and enjoy the extra money on tires, wheels or for me, cuban cigars and Havana Club rum...

I beat the hell out of the demo car I drove and so did the sales guy that took me out. Two days later I went back to go put a deposit on an order and one of the tech there ask me if I was buying the firestorm, told him no. He told me just about every one beated the hell out of the car just like a $20 hooker (his words, not mine).

Unless you get a super warranty deal and 3-5g off msrp.

Edit: whoops wrong Car but you get the idea. Thought I was in frs gen chat.

I posted this in another forum but I think it's good to give you guys an update since you helped respond too and I'm interested in your thoughts:

*Update*

I received a call from them telling me the car was here. Currently has 270 miles, 120 was put on prior to getting down here from New Jersey. And guess how the 120 miles was put on...it was a Press demonstration vehicle like someone on here joked before.

So that means that was 120 miles of hard driving, pedal to the floor accelerating, hard braking, skid pad sliding, track spinning driving. And they want to sell that to me as a "New Vehicle" because it wasn't registered under anyone and I would be the first official owner. That means I would get the standard warranty which would start the day of purchase. And they say this to me as if it's good news.

Wonderful. : l

I'm going to Scion...

There is demo then there is long term demo.
I thought I would put it here anyway incase someone reads this in the future.
I was shopping for a SUV and I really wanted fully loaded with leather and navigation, the works..

I was able to find a few of these used with 10-15k miles on it. Of course sold as used, but when I ran the car fax it was never titled and it was sold to the dealer at an auction as a dealer vehicle. This dealer had 3 cars just like this. Most likely these cars are passed to multiple journalist, anywhere from magazines, IGN, or even some non-famous blogs, or manufacturer demo days where they go beat it around sand dunes and such. Or it could be a car used by executives of the car company, given the brand and car was not anything exotic like a BMW X6M or something, I doubted it. No service records too.

Anyway, basically I see it as a rental car. I know of no one treat a rental car with any respect,... I bet it was driven hard every cold start without proper warm up.

Some long term reviewers also treats these cars like crap... they would post a blog updates about how the interior scratches easily. Obviously they stuffed a duffle bag somewhere violently. When they are done with the car it is given back to the manufacturer and these get sold at auction to car dealers

A brand new one was not even 20% more. Used cars prices are quite high these days anyway.
