![]() I bought some modeling clay. Going to wait for the new covers to arrive, install them (fingers crossed that they fit!) and then get going on the center support. Last edited by Drambeenie; 09-10-2017 at 11:56 PM. |

The center support is a hard pass for me. I would rather have jiggle. It can't possibly be worse than the Civic Type-R's wing... so It should be fine.

Perhaps I need to add rubber washers to the top and bottom for extra security. I was able to tighten the bolts on top a bit more and it definitely reduced the flex by about 10%. But I don't want to over tighten and a center support would obviously solve the issue. If you close the trunk from the top of the spoiler there's very minimal vibration and it feels very solid but not everyone will close their trunks like that. I think the spoiler is pretty thin. You can see it oscillate longer after you close the trunk. Personally, I'd be worried about it snapping in the middle or at the mounting points due to stress. Why don't you try and film it at highway speeds to see how much it deflects?

would it be odd to keep the OEM posts and just add little metal towers that have adjustable angle tabs and mount the flat wing on them?

One thing to also keep in mind is the covers haven't been attached yet and that could give it a lot of extra support and prevent it from bending at all. Will be getting that soon EDIT: Allegedly being delivered tomorrow.

I was going to post exactly this. They should definitely make an impact - assuming they are touching both the wing and the trunk.
