It's the right question but ultimately does it matter what people think? If they want to drive a minivan (or GTI in that person's case) and are deluded into thinking it's more fun than a BRZ, they're just missing out.

Yeah that 14.5 is rather optimistic. I think the fastest I've ever seen is a 14.8 for a bone stock FR-S.

Now it's probably 11s or something crazy.

5s from what I read here.

When I was into drag racing in the 70s a 10 was extremely impressive for a street driven car.

Back in the 60's I used to drag race my 1300cc 1966 VW. My best run was 20.22 seconds at a blistering 67 mph. That was faster than the 1500 VW's,the Porsche 912 clutch helped a bunch, could even get 2nd gear rubber. It was no slouch at autocrossing either. It was the most fun I've had on 4 wheels.

A guy I knew in Delaware got a new Nickey 454 Nova ,he took me for a few blasts down the highway. when he nailed it I thought I would end up in the trunk the acceleration was that fierce. That convinced me that I prefered handling over power!

Yeah, he's one of those people who will pick any other random car "x" over the 86 just to spite the 86. Still entertaining to see how he attempts to defend a minivan.

Yah some people hate on things irrationally. Good for some entertainment but rarely worth the time IMO

Doesn't surprise me. He is of course the OP of that thread.

Comments are actually somewhat civil and full of level-headed people. Some "I WANT MOAR POWER" dumbasses of course, but not as cancerous as most comment sections in general.

Tends to be the case in all of reddit. The upvote/downvote feature helps bury stupid comments into oblivion.

My car is probably a low 14 in the quarter mile right now. That's not slow, especially for a n.a. 2 litre. When I had the el header and tune my 0-60 was 5.7 with a nice launch. Again very respectable. I want another header sooo bad. Lol

If you like the car don't worry about what others think of it. If you don't,sell it and buy something else.

The car is slow
The car is fun

The twins can pull .9g on the stock tires.. not even a particularly impressive number but I wonder what would happen if you tried to pull those gs with that minivan... how about a slalom?

Also, This car lets me do something a faster car wouldn't; harass faster cars on track and get to be smug about my driving skills.
