Hi, just reading through your thread.. great stuff!!

I have the Ohlins MI20 kit, with the 6kg/6kg springs and top mounts. Would you mind asking Ohlins why they changed their set up for this platform please? 4kg/3kg seems silly soft?

Daily and daily, I run it quite a lot actually but I got another car too that I use whenever I can. I put 1000km on the 86 the last few weeks though and did more than 10k last year.

I haven't got that much experience with different pads to be honest. I ended the season with a set of Project mu HC800+ front and NS400 rear. Bought them from a guy at the track when I didn't have any spare yellow stuffs. They feel 20 times better! Actually, in comparison the yellow stuffs seem slippery in and the price difference is not that big! I noticed ft86 doesn't sell the HC800+ anymore and the NS400 might crumble quick in the front! I would however consider them as they are reasonably priced.

In my new AP calipers I got some ferodo ds2500 pads. Hard to say what they feel like since the caliper itself gives it a different feeling too. They are however a pretty popular all round street/track quality pad! I'd definitely give them a shot!

And never try Red stuff! I've had the entire pad surface fall off after a few laps in a BMW 1-Series.

Welcome😎

The 6/6 were developed on nurnburg ring I hear. The 4/3 on a Swedish track called Gelleråsen. I'm gonna ask them again to clarify it more next time I talk to them!

Today was corner weight day!

The car seems very well balanced and I've decided to stick with Ohlins standard height. It looks nice on my 18's!

It weighs 1230kgs without me in it. Pretty decent considering I haven't done any lightening other than sparco seats and a titanium muffler and some other minor mods! The balance is awesome with only a few kg difference between the sides! Of course, with me in it, it gets a bit more unbalanced but it's certainly within the limits of what is considered good!

Also I went with the following alignment:
Front:
Toe out 0.05
Camber 3,4

Rear:
Toe in 0,05
Camber 1,7 (not adjustable and I'm not allowed to change LCA's)

Since I put last seasons ad08r's on the car is immensely stiffer and the Ohlins spring rates doesn't feel that far off anymore. This was a bit of a revelation for a rookie like myself, to actually get a feel of what a soft sidewall feels like

And AP + Ohlins = porn🙄

Today we put the saw to the hood I'm impressed of how light the oem hood is. There is no point at all going carbon fibre, especially when there is something as pretty and performance enhancing as the trackspec louvers!

I for once took a lot of pictures during the install so if anyone would like a DIY I'll do it!

Now begins the long wait for more parts...

Since I've got the car about 200km away from where I live and I send all parts to my mate's, he sometimes sends me porn pictures😍

Behold! TRD carbon fibre spoiler and SARD LSR carbon fibre wing with the extended brackets😍

I can't wait to install these! The car is getting closer to what I want it to be, both visually stunning and great performing!

damn this thing is getting better and better!.

I have a TRD wing as well, very tempting to order the SARD wing with the extension bracket off a vendor on the forum.

Cheers to that! I ordered it on eBay but I was in contact with the seller before and he was well aware of the extension brackets and had them manufactured for me! It could be the same guy!

Got quite a lot of work the next few days and I might have to spend the weekend in turkey:/ Just can't wait to put these on!!!

The SARD LSR is on! It does look fucking sweet!!!

Can't wait to try it out now! Just waiting for my winmax W6.5 pads (they're like 4 weeks away). I ordered an extra set of ferodo ds2500 for the front and have an old pair of yellowstuff rears that I'll use as backup and I just might try to hit the track with them next weekend... I can't resist anymore!

Today I started to dissect the spare engine I bought, to inspect the bearings... and oh boy!

Cyl 1: Wtf have happened to the rod! It's like the cast steel has disintegrated! Bearing had scratches but the crank was fine. Cyl 2 and 3 are the same with destroyed rods and no damage to the crank.

Cyl 4....

The bearings were seized on the crank and was totally grinder down on the edges. The crank is badly damaged here.

This also looked odd. The entire block seems to be offset a tiny bit. Is this normal with boxers?

Also have a look on the surface above the main bearings. It almost looks as if the crank has scratched the block itself. However, there is sealant still on the groove as you can see here:

At least it have compression and I only paid 350 for it😜

Any engine builders out there that care to assist a bit?

I'm considering a track day next Sunday to make sure everything runs fine on the car. I've ordered a set of ferodo ds2500 pad for the front that I'll use before my real pads get here. Can't wait, the car feels crazy good now!
