The only time I would call my setup loud is on cold starts, but it settles down after 30 seconds or so
This was the original setup (quality parts btw) I was looking at but my concern for the bass started to bother me recently. I think I have started talking myself out the UEL and may start looking at EL. Nothing wrong with bass just don't think it suits my preference anymore.

You know, you could get a tune, and not have to worry about CELs...

Ace A/350, stock FP, CSG x MXP catback. Mature sound, loud enough to be obviously not stock, quiet enough to not piss anyone off, zero drone, zero smell.

Combine with JRSC for some serious go.

No drone. I wouldn't call it overly bassy. It actually sounds slightly less bassy inside with the header than it did with just the catback. Fine for hours on the freeway. I have an OEM Audio Plus system, so I can play music and hear it over the exhaust if I want. If I'm doing spirited driving, I just listen to the exhaust.

I have JDL UEL catted with Invidia Q300. Loud on cold start, but settles down. Nice beefy sound when accelerating, but when cruising it is pretty quiet. Low tone with slight rumble. Got a CEL that goes on and off. Used an o2 spacer, but apparently it didn't work too well.

@Carbinebbq - well, the check engine light is no surprise. And you're getting only a small fraction of the potential performance gains without a tune. The car can also be quieter on cold start with a tune. My car idles at around 1100 rpm on startup. Highly recommend the Delicious tune.

OFT is currently a paperweight. Waiting for my tune files still..

The bass tone is what UELs do. But not all UELs are created equal. JDL is one of the more unequal of the UELs there are. I would say think about the FT86SF catted setup as it is a little higher pitched imo

Yeah I agree. I'm looking at the ace headers atm they seem to be getting the exhaust note I'm looking for.

The ACE 400 is ridiculous on the street. Drove a locals car with them and the pull was amazing for NA. Just remember you need a tune from Delicious for max output from them. Seems every other dyno done on them showing low numbers was from a different tuner.

He had it paired with the HKS single exit and it sounded amazing
