Trying to decide which wheels to purchase for my car is PAINFUL.

I've considered so many black wheels it's ridiculous. Here's an earlier post: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showp...44&postcount=9

That was the initial batch I was considering plus a few others. Then I had decided upon RPF1s due to the weight, price, and looks. Then I discovered the Weds SA-15R...... http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showp...4&postcount=27

I was dead set on getting those. I still WANT to be dead set on getting those due to the fact they they'll be unique and sexy (brand new for this year).

But there's just something about this pic.....

I think I may end up with white sneakers for my car instead of dress shoes.

That was a great write up on the HID conversion. I see so many guys that are infatuated with installing HID kits with no consideration of the points you mention. The fact that the lights often result in less ability to see at night seems to be a secondary consideration to the bragging rights of having HID and the showiness of the lights on the car.

Well done.

Just spoke with Mike at MMAutodetailing.com

Have an appointment on the 19th to have my windows tinted and clear bra applied to my full hood, bumper, and fenders.

Also having them wrap my mirrors and fender inserts in 3M DI-NOC carbon fiber vinyl.

About $1700 for it all.

EDIT: Scratch that... I just scheduled the same with http://www.automobiliaautosalon.com/ where they'll use XPEL protection film instead of 3M

$1950

Hardwired Radar Detector

I learned a lot on the forums about opti-coat before I got my car and was determined that it would be the first thing I did. So it was...

Purchased the car on 6/28/12

Current
7/13/12 - Opti-coat applied by Rich @ Explicit Details - $350 ($250 for OC + $50/hr for prep)
12/1/12 - Purchased a 1998 Jeep Cherokee with 140k miles for $3500
3/2/13 - Installed Perrin Resonated Cat-Back, Perrin CAI, Perrin Inlet Tube, and Perrin Lightweight Crank Pulley
3/29/13 - 22w H11 LED Headlight Bulbs from AutomationLED

Plans
Immediate Future:
1. Window Tint - 20% maybe? More likely 35% (CT minimum). Don't want to give the police any further reason to harass a red sports car.
2. Clear Bra - Suffered some rock chips at this point and don't want any more!

Wish List (no particular order):
Exterior
- Switchback Turn Signal LEDs
- Clear Smoke corners w/ LED
- TRS HID Retro-Quik Conversion and blacked out headlight housing simultaneously
- Staggered Weds SA-15R in 18"
- Unknown high perf tire
- Grazio Black Carbon Look Side Vent

Interior
- hardwired radar detector
- Pioneer AVIC-Z140BH
- replace factory speakers with unknown high end product
- JL Audio ProWedge with single 10" W6
- already own JL 500/1 and 350/4 amps
- remove spare in attempt to compensate for added weight
- perhaps LED interior lighting

Engine
- Nameless Performance Header
- Nameless Performance OP/DP combo WITH HF Cat
- lightweight flywheel? Need to research
- ECU tune for the above

Suspension and Brakes
- high perf rotors and pads
- SS brake lines

All of this is subject to change given future products, reviews, results, innovations, and available funds. If I ever go FI it will likely be a supercharger in an effort to preserve throttle response as best as can be done.

Stock suspension satisfies me. I know a lot of folks complain that the car is very high and needs to be lowered. I don't know what they are smoking. I saw a comment that it looks like a 4x4. Coming from, most recently, a jeep I find this funny. I believe these folks are actually focusing on wheel gap which is high. I feel that this car sits extremely low for a production car and folks tell me that all the time as I introduce them to it. I want to preserve my ability to make it in and out of driveways/parking lots with any sort of slope, clear dead animals and other debris, and go over speed bumps all without damage.
Don't know if you have had a radar detector installed and I have no idea how much you are willing to pay, but I will tell you that Boomer McCloud in Nashua NH installed a K-40 RL360i remote (hidden) radar detector and laser defuser G5 in my FRS in early this month. First off it saved me a ticket on the way home and then on my drive from Fitchburg to OKC, OK it saved me a ticket when an Ohio State Trooper tagged me with laser doing 82 in a 65. As the video on youtube shows, evidently he never got a readout on how fast I was going. Very, very impressed on the distance of typical radar alerts. Cost me about $1700 but well worth it. Probably already saved me that much between tickets and insurance rises.....lol

I would also highly recommend Boomer McCloud. They did an awesome job.

I visited the Kancamagus Highway in the White Mountains of NH today.... Here's some pics.

There was a Mini cruise going on. They were broken into several smaller groups of between 10 and 20. There was possibly as many as 200 Minis cruising the highway. I caught a few pics.

Definitely liking the black "vents".

I'm going to have to add that to my list of things I want to get around to doing.
