Sorry man I missed your post but yes, they are the same size as the JDM spec. I'm also glad we got the red trim badge I much prefer it to the plain silver badge sorry!

So I took the car on it's first spur of the moment "country trip" over the weekend to York, about a 280km round trip. The ride was fun, the roads were reasonably twisty and the traffic was minimal

Positives from the trip:
  • Car handled the roads great,
  • Was comfortable for me,
  • Fairly economical over the whole trip,
  • Car seemed to get a lot of positive attention from onlookers;
  • Most importantly the wife enjoyed herself! (I had a good time too)
  • Also got past "break-in" period later that night
Negatives:
  • Lots of road noise (I had the radio fairly low and also the road surface wasn't silky smooth for most of the journey),
  • Wife started to get a bit uncomfortable from the firmness of the seat on the way home;
  • Brakes seemed a bit "doughy" when slowing down from high speed (similar to my old 01 WRX but this can be fixed)
All in all a good day but definately need to find some more winding roads to enjoy!

Now that "break-in" is over I'm going to install the Perrin pulley after Toyota does their 1 month INSPECTION on Friday and drop the oil. Might also order a set of rims if the Minister of War and Finances approves

Good times.

Cheers,

Matt

Got to catch up for a cruise in January when I get mine. Love the drive out to York, such nice winding roads and a great spot for a day trip.

My Minister for War and Finance is in the doghouse with me atm, so I have a few (rare) bargaining chips on the table

So today I gave the new girl her first oil change. Possibly the easiest and cleanest oil change I have ever done, seeing as the filter is on top of the motor and won't cover you with oil when you take it off!
The hardest part of the whole job was getting her on the hoist! I was using a 2 post Molnar hoist and with the car being lowered it took a bit of moving and adjusting of the arms to line everything up just right (maybe I won't lower the car any lower than it is now!)
I used Mobil 1 5W-30 (this is the first time I have used mobil) as it was recommended by a friend of mine. Now, I don't know if this is just me but since I changed the oil the engine seems like it has freed up... a lot! It seems to rev a lot easier and has more urgency under any throttle postion. Maybe it's just me or some form of placebo effect?? But this is just what I feel.

I aslo roughly measured how much oil was taken out and how much was put back in. I made sure the oil levels where the same on the dip stick before and after I changed the oil.
Removed: ~5L
Replaced: ~5.95L

I checked the manual before changing the oil and it says approx 5.4L with a filter. As you can see I used a little bit more but I don't think it's a major issue. Just FYI the level on the dip stick is spot on the Full/High mark.

All this was done in around 30min. Easy!

Unfortunately I didn't have time to install my Perrin Pulley today as I ran out of time. I'll get around to it one night this week after work.

Until then,

Cheers

She has new shoes!

Rota G-Force 18x9+35 in Hyper Black with Federal 595rpm 225/40/18.

It's amazing that the road noise has decreased dramatically!!

Looks brilliant and good choice on tyres.

The front probably needs a little camber adjustment ' sticking out just a little

Well I thought different fuels would cause a bit of a hiccup? We run 98 octane instead of 91/93...

I tune cars from all over the world

You run 98RON which is 93 octane.

I've sold a bunch of cables your way ready.
