It sucks how it ships with non all seasons. Salesman said all of his WRX's and all of his BRZ's he has sold are listed as "performance tires", always summer tires so far. I have no idea what I am going to do with summer prius tires if I take delivery in March in New York. March is quite nasty in New York.
Bite the bullet and order a set of snow tires/wheels. All seasons are not snow tires.

Thanks

I only have VERY limited test drives. And, I have not driven one in two months. I remember it was a very space age sleek riding machine. Was also a smooth ride, very smooth compared to my Mini Cooper S.

Let's hope the performance package doesn't destroy the ride

True, but a durn sight better than summers in the snow. With the OE tires we can be completely immobilized in an inch of snow. At least the performance all-seasons do most things very well, and no headaches, skinned knuckles and noise which come included with dedicated snows/wheels.

Maybe in NC that is true. That describes AS tires here!
Again, the performance of the tires has nothing to do with the amount of snow but with temperature. I would drive through 6 inches of snow at 50 degrees on the summer tires without even getting mildly nervous. I would be scared shitless to even move the car on summers with bare, dry roads but at temperatures anywhere approaching freezing. Snow is one of the very last things affecting the tires and AS tires (especially the "performance" ones) where it gets truly cold are every bit as useless as summers.

From the info we have it is not that great a change. Anybody on lowering springs or coilovers at a firm setting have probably done more to impact the ride then the PP will.

The most I get here is ice on some mornings and evenings. All seasons are great for that. When I travel up to Tahoe and there's half an inch of snow that'll be ploughed within the hour and I have chains, all seasons are fine. If I lived in snow country, I'd have snow tires.

Exactly! There are places where the AS are the perfect choice. Anybody telling somebody in NYC to get AS tires because they are OK are just inviting disaster.

Probably Factory Order, since it's under allocation.
