I know this isn't photography, but I was wondering....

Do you think a 60D or T3i would be fine for beginner indie film-making?

I can't find a Camcorder that's under 2 Grand that produces the same video quality that of a DSLR would produce.

Many Film Makers say that DSLR's are not for film making, but I can't understand why?

Parts of the Avengers was filmed with a 5D MkII as was all of Act of Valor. I am not sure why they would say that, Look into the magic lantern OS for can EOS cameras. It was designed specifically for videography.

That's the limit of my knowledge as I am strictly still shots.

my brz is still in the shop but a buddy let me take some pics of his frs. I posted an album to my page and would love critiques.

I'm old school to photog. (35mm b/w darkroom experienced)

I shoot nikon d80 (raw/manual) and have been commissioned and published in the past.

But I'm new to mac and Lightroom 4 so I'm getting used to manipulating photos. (not biggest fan of photoshoping my work) but it can be fun as I found after this shoot.

I originally wrote like 2 and half paragraphs of anecdotes and stuff, but then I found this link.

http://rossfairgrieve.com/is-the-sma...o-camera-dead/

tl;dr a 60d or T3i will be fantastic options for indie film making. ^^ That link up there pretty much explains why you don't see everybody shooting video with DSLR's though.

An old friend of mine used to do the whole old school photography with her filmed camera until she broke it. She'll still randomly reminisce over it.

And I used to prejudice of using photo shop programs but I learned to like it later on.

Also not a bad photo of the FRS, I'll have to check your album out later.

Like the chess photo but could have used less blur. And for a second I thought you took that last photo of that explosion. I would have been really impressed. Thanks for sharing though.
