its almost seems like its inbetween and randomly not consistent.. Sometimes i feel it right when i step on clutch and putting it in 1st gear but sometimes its when i release the clutch slightly just right after i put it in 1st gear.. its somewhere in there..

Simple solution: press in the clutch...wait at least 1 second...then shift into first. Will never make a thud then...

I've been thumping for years with the other cars too. This actually works! It didn't thump even once for the whole trip! Thanks!

Draco-REX and Brimford also mentioned this in the thread before I re-emphasized it and specifically mentioned first gear...

Sometimes you grow out of it or find ways to avoid it and yes thats one way i figured how to avoid the thud.. i just cant imagine new cars would have all this problem right off the bat.. chirping, thud, rattles etc...

I've never driven a FR car that didn't have the associated 'chunk' of an engaging driveshaft while the transmission is still in motion. o.0

I get that noise too and a small kick from under the seat when I am in stop and get in first gear after a while. Kind what happens with motorcycles. I guess this car has been made with some motorcycle analogies like the boxer motor.

They are not problems. The chirp is the DI pump (this is debatable but at least everyone can agree a big part of the noise is the DI Pump). Every car that has a DI pump is noisy like that. The thud happens virtually to all RWD cars, again not a problem its just the way it mechanically works.

The rattles, that is part of having a sportscar. Little effort was put into sound deadening and eliminating engine feel/vibration inside the cabin. This adds weight and removes driving feel. That is part of the beauty of the car. Its a return to basics type of car. Manufactures have lately spent a lot of effort into making the car lifeless so that you get a smooth, quiet ride in which you don't feel the engine or transmission vibrate while shifting and can't get a feel for steering. Well this car has none of that and its great because of it.
