Well, sure, and I would have been one of them given that MR2 was "MidEngine, Rear Drive, 2 Seater" or "Midship, run-about, 2 seater" depending on who you talk to, that would have been pretty silly.

I always thought BRZ stood for braciole!
You know, like, "I like the shape on that blond. Would love to give her the braciole"!

My guess is a Lancia Stratus since it says that on the bumper. Was just the most bizarre pic of a Zenith car I came across

Nice but we all know that the Philco Ford blew the Zeniths away. They had a vastly superior horazontal hold and the tubes took half as long to warm up. They were the true sports TV of the era.

I Dad didn't consult me before purchased. I was just happy I could finally watch Hong Kong Fuey in color.

This horse has been dead for a while, but I'll go ahead and toss in my $0.02.
As a few others have said, this car will eventually find a consistently firm market. The reason being thanks to the fact that these cars were a bit of a throwback from day one... Other than the MX5, I don't see anyone making such a light, simple, dedicated sports car anymore. As the future heads toward autonomy and electrification, I think the 86 will become and "end of an era" car of sorts. I'm not saying air-cooled 911 status, but definitely something akin to what we are seeing with S2000 values. |

We also had a Zenith console in our wood-paneled den with the sectional couch, but ours had rotary dials instead. You had to tune in UHF. The Atari sat on top of it until you moved it to the floor to play Yar's Revenge.
We would watch commercials on it for other televisions that had remote controls. I once said to my dad, "When are WE going to get a TV with a remote control?" "I already have remote control," he said. "Get up and change the channel." |

I have a feeling we're at a point in the value of the dollar where $10K will remain an unconscious target number for a few more years, long enough for it to serve as a natural average at the low end of our cars' curve. The S2000 sort of bounced off $10K and seems to be going back up. A lot of the old MGs, Triumphs, Datsuns and other sports cars that have been below $10K and rising seem to be stalling out there. I think we'll get to the point where $8K for an 86 is a real bargain while people are still willing to pay $12K for an exceptionally clean, low mileage example. Could be wrong though. |
