So buying new wheels and tires for winter is not necessarily a bad thing :-)

You're absolutely right about the tires. I was thinking about it earlier. If the tires are actually that old, they're useless. The guy from Toyota said that they're got over 70% tread.

Honestly my main concern is a car with an accident and a car without. Now someone mentioned earlier that someone could've had an accident but never reported it and half assed the repair. It's always a risk buying a used car but for literally 10 grand cheaper, it's worth the risk.

It's a 2014 with only 3,800Km and it's a manual!
To me, this sounds way more interesting then the other 2 you are looking at. No worries about service interval either.

That car sounds tempting but.. Seems to good to be true to be honest. Also, I should've mentioned this earlier, I was hoping to finance half price of the car to have money left over in my bank instead of just blowing it all

Now we are into something totally different. Financing a used car is very expensive in the long run. Those payments look good until you factor in the large interest rates on used. If you do some serious shopping you may find that you can actual get a new one that will cost only a little more over the course of the payments.
If you are willing to travel a bit I bet you could find a discounted 16 (I have not looked) still on the lot. You may even find one at a 0% rate. Take the cash you were going to use and pay a big chunk up front to drop the payments. This way you remove the whole used car risk for only a small amount more money spread over years. If you want to save money by buying used then wait and save until you can pay cash. No doubt you want the car right now but sometimes holding off just makes sense.

If you do have a couple you want to look at zip over to the Toronto regional sub on here and ask if anybody would be willing and o look at it with you. Some of these guys really know their shit and could at least tell you if it is worth paying to have the car checked elsewhere.

I know it's a huge chunk but I don't think I'll ever find 0% interest as I don't think that was ever available here in Ontario (not sure to be honest).

I actually really like your idea of maybe I should hold off and wait for that gem. I seriously would like to get one this second. They're so fun to drive and I literally hate bringing the car back to the dealer after a test drive because I just want to stay in it all day. But maybe I'll find something that is worth waiting for, especially because winter is coming soon, some people get rid of their rides to get something more friendly in the snow (I hope).

I won't give up and I'll check autotrader daily for one.

Thanks for the idea man!

Ya Scion would never have 0% but I have seen Subarus at it and no doubt Toyota will have good rates at some point. You don't want to just settle for whatever you can manage right now because every little thing that goes wrong will nag at you (even if perfectly normal) since you will always think "what if I had got that other one".

Excellent advice!

-longer warranty
-virgin
-no risk
-win/win

Otherwise the LEAST expensive option will be to hold off until you can pay it all without any interest.

Personally, I suggest make a call to a local dealer to see if they have any 16's left. THen ask if they are willing to offer any incentive for the 16. And lastly, what is the interest rate.

**One more option if you want one NOW! (I totally understand how you feel BTW). Lease! People will tell you leasing is a deal with the devil, it will cost you more long term, etc etc. I leased probably 6 cars in a row, and never financed with a dealer. Cars I didn't leaase, I put down a big chunk of cash, like you want to, then used my secured line of credit for the balance, at a lower rate than Scion could offer when the car first came out.**

I am a pretty conservative guy in may ways, with my "old man advice" but this isn't a bad idea.

>>>>>>>>>>>>
Subaru 2016 Sport Tech manual 4 yr lease with 24000 km/yr 0 down @ 0.5% APR= ~$450/mth tax incl.
Or finance with $10K down for 60 mths @ 0.5% APR.= $198 bi weekly
Obviously, based on availability.

I'd buy the FRS that was linked by another member.

As others have said, don't use age as an indicator if the car has been beaten or not. I'm 21 years old and this is my first car, I baby the shit out of it.

Or just wait a bit longer for a better FRS to pop up. With 2017's coming in, there's going to be people who upgrade from their old twins. Plus, $20,000 is definitely enough for an amazing condition FRS/BRZ.

This one is local to me. Test drove it and felt it had a few issues... shifting felt a bit rough.. owner tells me that he's completely new to driving stick. 1-2 shift squeaked and could be felt in the clutch pedal as well. had about 2-3 very light dings on driver side rear quarter panel. otherwise a clean car.

Actually Scion Hawaii (Servco) has had 0% interest which I was offered when I bought my car. In fact Servco Toyota has it right now! I got a letter from Servco asking to trade in my Scion with 0% interest on a new Toyota! It wouldn't be a wise $$$ decision for me. Anyway I don't like the shark whale front end of the 86 2017. Now the 2017 BRZ is another story. I wouldn't mind selling my car & buying a 2017 BRZ!

I didn't pay any attention to Scion Canada and they never advertised but I doubt they ever had zero. Could have though.
