With or without a roll cage doesn't really matter. I've driven my caged 350z on the street and its more dangerous in my mind because most people won't wear a helmet on the street.

A good friend got a nasty concussion from a crash after hitting his head on his cage.

Benefit to loosing the airbag? Maybe. At the track or on the street if you have a small crash your airbag won't punch you in the face. During a large wreck? I don't know.

Cars were sold in the 90's without airbags and worse crumple zones. These were designed to utilize Supplemental Restraint Systems alongside to help in a crash. The way I see it, my new car is probably built with better crumple zones and the seat belts are just as good if not better.

Steering improved? For me it has been. I prefer to have the steering wheel really close to me while driving and my legs stretched out. With the factory configuration, this wasn't possible.

But I understand there are companies that make aftermarket steering wheels that can give you the benefits of a different wheel but allow the factory airbag to remain in tact.

Maybe this helps?

I ask becuase I thought the purpose of aftermarket steering wheel like this is because with a full cage it sometimes hard for the driver get out of the car without removing the steering wheel? I like the steering wheel position right but would rather prefer a slightly smaller wheel. Does aftermarket steering wheel change the steering characteristic?

Lol but really, there just happened to be a photographer in the passenger seat of a BRZ that was cruising in our caravan so it worked out well

I love it, not sure the neighbours do... lol. It's a shame it reminded me of my saabaru with jdm sti swap, because I kept waiting for the gt30 spool and huge torque surge... and it never came.
But it's a little raspy without cats now, that will be fixed soon. I'm replacing my entire exhaust with P&L's 2.5 stuff. And the front pipe will have a high flow cat in it. Can't wait

Sure if you have a quick release. Though my caged 350z I never wanted one cause it was easier for me to use the wheel as leverage to get out.

I'm not currently running a release on the FRS and don't plan to.

It will change a bit depending on wheel size and location. If a wheel is further from your body your not in your "power zone". If a wheel is really small it can become hard to turn it. Larger wheels get more leverage making it easier.

I made it past mile 666 only 334 miles to go. But more importantly I got my Borla exhaust installed today.
