Obviously it's not quite a fair comparison. This has had the interior mostly stripped, a cage bolted in, sticky tires and track pads, but I can attest to the traction-control being much more useful in the '17 vs the older models. I didn't even use track mode (b/c I didn't feel like spending my $6000 deductible), but even with all the nannies on it only really got upset by the carousel. I feel like the clutch and shifter were also a little better.

I may still not care for the front end, but man, such a great drive in a great car!

My best time "Bridge to Gantry" was my second lap at 9:40 with one yellow flag out on the track. By the time I got to my third and fourth laps there were four different cautions, so they were slower over all.
Wow Nurburgring sounds like you had an awesome day.

I saw a thread on here where someone removed the trim piece from around the radio and installed LEDs. I took off the trim and drilled holes and put an LEd strip behind it. My camera sucks, but after messing with the exposure I got a semi-decent pic.

cool effect!
I hate the dash trim on my 16 frs. stickers fall right off. hey, better than mucking up the exterior with vinyl horsepower, right?

I might see about getting BRZ smooth trim, or... matte finish carbon. YIKE$!

cool idea with the lights though! also a neat place for toggle switches.

Truly a bucket list item.

If anyone wants to do it, I definitely recommend picking a time when the track is open first thing in the morning and getting started as early as possible. There may be some risk of fog of course, but assuming it's a nice day, it's the best way to have a clear track.

The track opened at 8 am, and we were driving by 8:15. The first off happened within the first half-hour and by an hour in there had been four crashes already! After that the traffic picked up in general and they road crews were playing catch-up towing vehicles off of corners.

It's not as bright when I'm driving. I turned up the exposure time to get a pic in the dark. There's a lot of room above that and you could put toggle switches in there.

yeah I'm gonna take a look at that, sigh, but i doubt its the fork because the fork wouldn't stiffen as the transmission warms up, the fluid in the cylinders and transmission might expand more with heat which is why it works infinitely better when warm than cold when I'm out of university for auto eng ill let you know exactly why LOL Ill definitely keep you guys posted. As for the clutch, it feels exactly the same as stock, it bites fairly well, its very light to operate i would say it engages slightly smoother than stock clutch but thats probably because the stock one was worn. Its great for daily driving but id keep it off the track id comment on longevity but I've barely broken it in and i probably won't even have the car when it comes time to replace it

Oh and new wheels!

Sup guys went for a drive in the rain and noticed something and didn't want to make a new topic for this small question

Is it normal for this rubber/gasket to be sticking out of the side markers?

Thanks

If only I could afford to go to Germany and drive there in an 86

Still glad you had a good time though!

Looks like silicone or whatever. You could try to cut it back with a razor

I never did anything near the side markers or even remove the front bumper so that's weird that the silicone is coming out like that from the factory lol

Thanks for the reply tho
