That car they had in test is a limited edition, highly tuned, motor built, tweaked car on PilotSports3. Do that to BRZ and come again. And if you cannot see, that the Bolero lap is wet meanwile the BRZ lap is just rain then really there is no room for discussion here. BTW that Bolero is more expensive than BRZ, just to imagine what a super-mini it is. And while I am not sure if that limited car has AWD or not, they definitely have that option on "standard" cars.

You have to remember that our cars come with very pathetic street tires that are meant more for non-aggressive street driving. Toyota/Subaru just used the tires to showcase and advertise the playful/drifting nature of the car.
If you put on a set of Potenza S-04 Pole position the times will improve a lot. An even more bigger improvement would be the Advan AD08R! If those came on our cars from the factory the lap times would be drastically improved!

+1000. It's all due to the tires, the Primacy's are just awful, specially in those conditions. The PS3's on the Bolero on the other hand are superb on wet conditions.

Such comparisons are stock over stock. It doesn't make sense to start discussing what would happen if we had different tires, if the track was not wet, if we had a turbo and so on. The updated model is what it is and there is a good evidence that performance wise is not much different from the older model.

I have a modified BRZ and I know what it can do. This doesn't mean that we should hide the performance of the new model. |

Ride compliance I would say is mostly the same as my old FRS.

Yep, torque dip is still there. Not quite as bad as previous years, I think mostly because of the revised gearing, but still annoying.

If you could put a dollar value for the extra 5HP and gearing, how much would that be worth to you? In other words, if someone had a gen 1 BRZ, how much is it worth to you to trade the gen 1 for the gen2? |
