Another video on the topic of light weight over power.
That guy is really boring. Like painfully so.

Depends on your tastes. He is dry but his instructional videos are to the point with his simple white board explainations and clear understanding of physics. He obviously has a lot of followers, even though there are higher production explaination videos out there.

He makes a good point in that video though, power isnt for everyone, even if it is for some. And many probably sacrafice weight and balance for power at a cost they dont just dont realize exists.

Of course, I won't buy one.
I wouldn't buy one either, but I would lease one. Battery life/health diminishes over the years, and are crazy expensive to replace. But while they're good, they're awesome. That Tesla Model X smoked a 707 HP Hellcat on a dragstrip. Ludicrous Speed, GO!

The Car Guide is headed to the Vancouver Island Motorsport Circuit on Canada’s West Coast this week to get a firsthand look at the changes made to the Subaru BRZ.
Will this be the first testing of the 2017 BRZ in NA?

I guess I'm not going to get a series.yellow because subaru still plans to release an sti version in a few years. Who knows, by then I might be too invested in my car to trade up but you never know.

Also, Automobile "driving" the car doesn't mean they tested it. Unless it's instrumented testing then it's just driving impressions, i.e. fluff pieces.

My bad, I was misremembering what was actually a test drive in California of the new Fiat 124 that they recently posted.

For a car like this much of the instrumented testing is not that relevant; producing impressive numbers is not what the BRZ is about. It's no devourer of skippads or dragstrips - or even tracks for that matter. Slalom numbers, braking performance, and brake fade testing results do speak more directly to its mission though.

I wouldn't call the driving impressions of people like Randy Pobst or even Jack Baruth "fluff". These guys have a depth of comparative experience and level of driving skill 99% of the car enthusiasts out there couldn't touch. I'd place more weight on a set of impressions from drivers like these than I would on a stack of objective test numbers, which tell me little about what the experience of driving the car at speed is actually like (something I'll never be able to explore on a test drive with a salesman).

That said, I'd agree that a great deal of the published subjective reviews, primarily from the b- and c-list sources, are of little use. It's often hard to find a negative review of any car on those sites, their "reviews" are basically infomercials.
