If you can can the rydeen duo camera, it's about $150US, and looks OEM. That is what I have and it works great.

Would've thought the proximity sensors would be fine if all people were concerned about was backing up. Only upside I can think of for the camera is if there's kids/pets who tend to run around behind your car. Guess you could argue that the pets/kids ought to be in the car already before moving.

I believe that is there "genuine" reverse camera. I seen it installed on other 86s and yes its not the best finish, however it is what Toyota use. I didn't get the camera cause it wasn't an option at all when I got mine. But since I got an after market from Carbon car systems in Sydney who sells a plug n play with the stock GTS head unit for $149 plus delivery. The install wasn't too hard but it does require drilling and the camera is secured by 3M double sided tape and a nut. No guideline for the camera if you want the feature need to order another cable. The camera works pretty good and it comes on instant when put in R.

So if you are getting camera from dealer, they are supposed to drill a hole to slot the camera in?

What if the camera broke after a few years, will it be easy to find a replacement which will fit the drilled hole snugly?
