Summer Kickoff 2016 wrap-up (with pictures!)

On June 11 over 100 FRS and BRZ bringing over 150 people descended upon Lake del Valle in Livermore, CA for the 3rd annual Norcal86 Summer Kickoff. We enojoyed a great day in some nice weather hanging out and chatting cars. We had huge support from our sponsors bringing in over $5,000 in raffle prizes! More then 30 different people walked away with prizes including a free track day with SpeedSF Track Events and a set of GT Radial Champiro SX2 tires including mount and balance.

There were plenty of limited editions roaming the lot like these 3 RS1.0

And this row of Series.Hyperblue

Our buddy Fei-Long out here with his wrapped, turbocharged, Wald fitted FRS repping Hot Import Nights and Life’s Good Racing

The crowd checking out all the rides (there were still 2 more rows of cars!)

Joshua Chase’s highly modded RS1.0

Nolan’s 10 Series with a chassis mounted rear wing took home the Most Functional award

Allen’s Rocket Bunny FRS took home Best in Show (as well as Best Scion at HIN San Jose a week later)

Our Official unofficial photographer Scott of course snapped a pic of his Burz

Me getting ready to get the awards and raffle going (just to prove that I actually do some work lol)

Unfortunately we SD card ran out of room before the raffle was done but here’s just a few winners with their Whiteline sway bars, Mann Engineering lowering springs, and $225 credit for labor to The Racer’s Line. We also had HID kits, plenty of shifter bushings, discounts on parts, track days, and racing supplies, as well as $300’s worth of gift cards to the local Toyota parts dept just to name a few.

We couldn’t put on such a great event without our sponsors support so big thanks to: GT Radial Tires, Speed SF, Elite Performance, Cusco USA, The Racer’s Line, Mann Engineering, Meng Motorsports, Dublin Toyota, 86Drive, Norcal 86Cup, Hot Import Nights (HIN), Life’s Good Racing, I/O Port Racing Supplies, and Quik-Latch products.

And of course a huge thanks goes to the boots on the ground; the Norcal86 board and huge group of volunteers helping run registration, doing the cooking, helping with the raffle and show, etc.

The biggest thanks goes to the community. We all do this for you so I really hope all of you enjoyed the event as much as I did and we hope to see all of you checking out the event next year!

P.S. don’t forget about August 6 aka 86Day which we will be celebrating at Mann Engineering this year! We are working hard on finalizing details so keep an eye out.

Summer Kickoff is the biggest event of the year and the Norcal86 board works hard to make it better year after year. We are not pros so there are hiccups but we always are listening to feedback and already have some good plans to improve on next years event. Please let us know if you have any ideas you think would improve the event and remember the more volunteers we have the better the event will be!
