A few people have posted about using 17x8 with a 245/40 tire. I'm not too keen on over sizing tires though, nor have I experienced it.

Personally, I am planning on getting 17x9 rpf's and a set of coil overs for next season, so November time frame is fine with me.

I want to run 17x9 et42 with 255s but I'm going to need to do so stock for a bit before coil install, I know this will fit on the street without any stress on the suspension but you guys are saying this set-up won't work for autoX on stock suspension?

I just don't have the funds to do it all at once but I figured why not take advantage of more tire NOW for the rest of the autoX season (which in Cali runs into December).

I think it would be close. A 245/40/17 will fit so honestly I'd probably just run that...
