Having said that, I really liked my 2011 Yaris. It was a fun car to drive (for what it was) and had the best cup holders ever (which are no longer available on 2012+).
Yeah, OP is taking opinions so I threw my main concern in there. Not opposed to owning one but pitted against a RWD coupe or sport, no contest. Hell, yesterday I was reminiscing with my brother over our awesome Chevettes. Damn things just wouldn't die.

I wonder if the Accord even has an option for a LSD or if they are all open diffs? The LSD in my FRS feels so much better than the open diff my Gen had. Big diff with limited slip diff.

FWD can put down power and can be fun, but it takes a lot of work to make happen and almost always a decent (not even great) RWD car will beat it off the line all else being equal.

I've had four Hondas - '85 CRX, '89 CRXsi, '92 Acura Integra GSR, '08 Accord Coupe, all sticks sans the Accord (age, bum knee, better tech = dump the clutch, figuratively, or cluck the futch, cluckfutchingly).

I considered the new Accord before buying the BRZ, and thank God I'm here and no longer at DriveAccord.

Honda makes fine cars. Even spectacular ones occasionally (NSX, S2000, etcetera). My CRX's were low on hp but also low on weight - go carts anyone? My GSR wailed like one half of a (then) F1 engine and felt like a rocket at +5600rpm.

My Accord coupe - great looking car with HFP suspension and lip kit and wheels, etcetera. And it rode, ah, fine, handled, um, fine, and did everything . . . just fine.

And I still loved it.

Because I hadn't yet sat in a BRZ.

While many don't, I happen to love the BRZ interior. It makes no pretensions. Its simplicity is as honest as the Accord's 'I am not simply an Accord sedan with two less doors' is dishonest.

I saw a stunning 2016 Accord Coupe two days ago, and thanked God I wasn't that guy. I bought my BRZ without driving one for even one second (sat in one at the dealership twice), based purely on the experiences of this boards members, YT vids, expert reviews, etcetera.

And let's face it, FWD VS RWD = WTF.

You can't compare what's possibly the sexiest car on the streets to a big heavy accord

One is a fwd v6 that weighs 3500+ lbs thats supposed to take your wife, two kids and yourself from point A to point B while you can sip on your Starbucks venti vanilla frap with three pumps of caramel and extra whip cream.

The other one, well...

I don't know how two cars that seem basically the same could be any more different honestly. If you wanted a big powerful heavy coupe, why not 370z, mustang or camaro? What kind of dingleberry actually buys an accord coupe for 30K+ with so many awesome alternatives available? I really don't know how the accord coupe is a thing in any kind of enthusiast circles. I can see how people who don't really care about driving can get caught up in such a car but not a real car enthusiast.

The only reason I can see someone buying the Accord for that price would be if they were a parent and needed the extra space for the kids but still wanted a fast coupe.

He's 21, like me, but he occasionally picks people up in his car. I mean, the BRZ/Genesis Coupe/Mustang have backseats if you really needed to pick someone up (more than 1). I couldn't see myself making a decision on an Accord over a sweet ass BRZ/Mustang/Gen just because I need to pick someone up occasionally, especially since we're both 21. He also had other stupid points like "the Accord is the #1 selling car in America" type of shit. Bruuh, that's cause Asian families all have one.

Owned a '14 Accord V6 Touring (same gen as '16, pre-facelift)... my wife and I hated it. Sure, the power was really nice. That engine is..... truly amazing for what it is. If it was straightforward, I'd swap one into my FR-S.

But the rest of the car - forget it. Honda's idea of "infotainment" and "navigation" is nothing short of maddening. I once spent 15 minutes sitting still in our driveway trying to get it to find a Dave and Busters so we could go to my nephew's birthday party. Eventually gave up. Mind you, I knew it'd be maddening, but I just wanted to give it one last try - as it had let us down so many times before.

You can't do much of anything on the touch screen once the car is moving. Fucking lawyer shit head bullshit. So all those toys they sell you, they're worthless. And don't expect the voice commands to save you, every Honda I've owned, even the 40k Acura's I've owned - voice commands are garbage.

Oh - and the stereo in the Accord sounds like you're under water. Not at all what I'd expect from a $34k car.

The steering.... omg the steering. Numb fuck video game nonsense. Where's it going to go when you turn the wheel? WHO THE FUCK KNOWS. It's weighted ok, but there is zero feel, zero correlation to angle vs where you're going. Sure, if you hunker down, pray to the baby jesus and gun it with that amazing engine through a corner... the thing will go around a corner decently well... but the whole time you're crapping your pants because you have no idea what the front wheels, where all the power is going, are doing.

And in general, the rest of the ergonomics inside the car were shit. Absolutely terrible leg room in the front seats. I swear all of the auto makers now are removing front leg room so they can wow automotive journalists with the "rear" leg room. "oooh look how much space I have in the back seat with the front seat all the way back!" - yeah, sure you do, because you have no space in the front.

Full disclosure, I'm 6'3", so this is a sore topic for me. But seriously, I have more leg room in my FR-S with the seat one click FORWARD, than I did in the Accord with it all the way back. And the Accord is a land yacht in comparison to an FR-S.

This crap from Honda - was the last straw for me. I've owned 15 Hondas, even run websites dedicated to them, and they've slowly and determinately burned bridges with me by losing their soul. I'm over it.

I would rather take the direct injected 4 cylinder with a 6MT than the V6 Accord. The V6 power is great, but it makes the car front heavy so it understeers a lot. Also there's so much power going to the front wheels without a limited slip to compensate.

The latest 4 cylinder with direct injection and manual can hit 0-60 in less than 7 seconds. They're a bit slower than a manual FR-S but close enough to keep it in sport compact territory even though it's not a compact. It has better balance, less understeer, less torque steer and just better handling overall. Not to mention it's a hell of a lot cheaper than the V6. Of course it still won't handle anything like a twin and it's front wheel drive. But if u want a comfy spacious interior that's still peppy and fun to drive, I don't think you can go wrong with a 2.4L Accord coupe 6MT.

If you really want the power of a V6 Accord I personally would rather get a Genesis coupe 3.8 R spec. That car understeers too, but at least with a rear wheel drive and a LSD, you can rotate the car with the throttle.

For DD its fine. I have a 2003 accord sedan 4cyl. I've replaced 4 or 6 rear calipers on it lol.

Solid rear disc with the ratcheting hand brake is a sad piece of hardware.

Accord is a great DD car but it is not something I think should really be cross shopped with a BRZ/FRS. If you test drive both and can't decide which you prefer I think you probably have no idea what you want.
