How long did you wait after hooking up to the other car? Did you hook up the wires and tried starting it?

I might be forgetting something, but look up the owners manual to see if there is a step by step for jump starting push button cars.

If not, Well time to bust out the multi meter. Or take the battery to the auto part store.

Could is maybe that he needs a new igniton coil? Cause that shows the same symptoms of a bad starter.

Going to change out the starter this weekend and hope it's not the coils.

hmmmmm......... the ignition coils are on the spark plugs ........ which has nothing to do with the starter working. ..... I don't think ....

Here is what I would do..make sure your OEM battery is not low on distilled water. If so, add it to the bottom of the filler plug. Then get a jump but after connection the jumper cables, let the other car run for 3-4 min while connected. Then try to start your car.

The only thing that worries be about your story is the knock you heard when it died. Hopefully not a major engine issues.

Check engine light on? If it is check that first to see what it is. I don't think it's your battery since you get power to turn on the acc. on your car. if you can't check for the code, see if you have spark and fuel when cracking the car. Btw don't disconnect the fuel line from the fuel rail to check if you have fuel coming out when cracking. It's high pressurized and dangerous to take it off.
