I love watching rally as well. I was at Pikes Peak to see him smash the record. What I don't understand is how in the world do you sit in the passenger seat, not look up and not puke?

Lucky you have such good runoffs on that track. If you were at one of our local tracks lakeside you'd be in the wall immediately. You so much as touch green there your car is a write off 90% of the time.

Vorshlag raises some pretty good counter-points here. Basically there's another video showing the driver had a bumpy "off" a few weeks prior and apparently neglected to do even a basic post-event check for cracks on the inner part of his wheels. Also points out the suspension setup appears to be bottoming out, which massively increases the forces absorbed when running the track curbing. Take it with a grain of salt since Vorshlag is a Forgestar vendor (and has used Forgestar wheels on their track builds), but whether you agree or not it's a well-written rebuttal and worth a read.
