Just a thought... saving as much as you can so you can put it towards any vehicle is a bad idea since they depreciate so much. I wouldn't recommend it.
For me, I don't plan to buy it until the 2nd or 3rd year release. I don't touch my savings since they sit in CD and Money Market accounts. I push a lot to my Roth IRA, 401K and stock options. Cashing out on my stock options is where I plan to use the money to buy this car.

I hope next year i can send my civic fk2 around 10.000 € (less than 100.000 km) and it bring me cash to buy the FT
I try to take the FT with a leasing (as my wif done with her Honda Jazz) I bought my civic 22.000 € so i think i can buy the FT if the price stay under 30.000€ even with 10.000€ cash |

Saved nothing so far.
Bit hard trying to save anything when you keep getting earthquakes. Last edited by [es vi: eks]; 03-11-2011 at 07:06 AM. |

As Matt mentioned, CD/MM accounts don't make that much but it's better to have it sit in one compared to a starding savings account. It'll benefit you more if you have a higher amount+ a longer duration. I have several stock options and seeing that Dow Jones closed at <12,000 yesterday was a bummer.

I've been looking for a new sports car for the past 3yrs had a $10k cash for down but since heard about FT86 figure to wait and see, remember when toyota stocks was down last year yes I put that $10k on toyota stocks now im back to $6k on a down payment on a new car but like others I'm not buying till 2nd or 3rd year so plenty of time to save. I want this car payed off fast so I can start buying aftermarket parts and as soon as the warranty expires its all out. If you seen my corolla you'll know what this FT86 will end up...

By the end of this year, I should have a little more than $30k saved up. Hope it's enough to buy the car and maybe even get a cash discount?
