No, I have never had traction control kick in while driving normally, even hard acceleration. If I grab second quick it doesn't even seem that invasive.

I can kick it in at will when I leave it on and pound on the car. I don't normally leave it on and I only pound on it 30% of the time. It's usually the 1-2 shift.

Quit trying to out think the engineers and just drive the car.

Hmmm.... On a related note, has anyone noticed how the TC light never comes on when they're testing the 86/BRZ on Best Motoring videos?
And yet, the "TC off" light is also off, suggesting that they didn't shut it down.
Either they're so good that the TC doesn't even kick in (despite driving these cars hard), or I'm missing something.... Pedal dance?

Pedal dance illuminates both lights and can only be cancelled by cycling the ignition.

This is very common on a lot of newer cars, it happens in my Vette as well. Only, the car actually has the power to spin the tires more often. The effect is the same, system bites down hard and you're struggling to get moving. Very annoying entering traffic or an intersection.

In my BRZ, however, the TC has only ever come on when the road is wet, snowy, and when taking a very sharp turn at low speeds and getting on it a bit hard when entering traffic. Otherwise, it NEVER turns on no matter how hard I drive it. Even when it does turn on, it's never bad enough to actually hinder driving in any way.

You guys must be driving like lunatics.

It`s got traction control? Oh right, that`s why I push a button for 5 seconds every time I start my car :P

Actually it interferes all the time but you don't know it. The idiot light only blinks when it's saving you from yourself. Even with the long push it still pulls throttle.

I'm too lazy to log so I'll leave it at that. Again, only pedal dance truly cuts the nannies. It doesn't add HP but it does give back that crisp old-school throttle response. Otherwise, VSC is always there between your right foot and the throttle body.

^is the throttle response better with the pedal dance???

I thought I was crazy at first. I turned all the systems off and when I would slide it the light would still flash at me after a certain amount of slip angle... I'd guess like after 90 degrees of opposite lock the systems get angry.

Might try the pedal dance in an open parking lot one of these days, but for having some fun around town pressing the TCS button for 5 sec is enough.
