Drove it in the snow for the first time... on stock tires... and I live at the top of a fairly big hill. Not a good combo. The amount of sheer stress and enjoyment this thing causes in the snow is interesting.

Flat ground was fun, but my street was not. I had to make three passes at the hill, blowing through a stop sign each time.

Had a great drive through some of the best roads in the Ozark mountains. Rode the "Arkansas Toothpick", had no traffic at all hardly and was able to exceed 100 mph several times on a twisty up and down roller coaster road that had no "straights" Took curves marked at 30 or 35 mph at 70 to 80mph and never even had a tire squeal with the "Sport VSC" mode turned on. Then took Scenic Byway 7 south to Hot Springs through the Ozark National Forest and then the Ouchita Mountains and National Forest.

I have taken this drive with Alfa Romeo Milano Quadrifolgio 3.0L V-6, a 65 Lancia Fulivia, and Lancia Scorpion mid-engine (Montecarlo) back in the 90's when I lived in Texas before. This BRZ blew away all of them. The natural balance of this car is so sublime and the power is just right to not overwhelm the chassis or the driver (like my previous BMW M Coupe used to do constantly) in relation to it's ability to grip the road.

I have driven the Nurburgring in an Alfa Twin Spark 159, and I could just imagine the BRZ being one of the most fun and fullfilling cars to drive on that circuit. You can go FULL out without every having to worry about losing control. And that makes for an exhilerating driving experience that leaves you with a giant smile on your face. It might not end up with the fastest lap time, but for the average driver taking a car onto the Ring, I cannot think of another car even close to this price that could deliver so much pure racing enjoyment.

Mine finally got driven off the lot today (unfortunately by my talented sibling rather than myself, but I'm excited as balls anyway).

Apparently they took it out later this evening for dinner and came out of the restaurant to find that the snow forecast for the next day had begun arriving early. Brand new summer touring tyres with the mould release still on and wet / slushy roads apparently made the drive home much more exciting than anticipated. On the plus side, apparently this resulted in my car getting completely sideways within hours of leaving the lot (without violating any break-in procedures!), which frankly just puts a huge, stupid grin on my face for some reason. So the hooning begins!

Here it is next to what will be its roommate for the next few months :3

I've never been this excited about car pictures. Can't wait to get my hands on it in a couple of months and bring it out west to hit up some twisting California roads... so torturous but so exciting!
