WHO THE FUCK KNEW REPLACEMENT TIRES FOR THESE FUCKING CARS WERE SO GODDAMN EXPENSIVE?!

$190 for these piece of shit Primacy's. Its still cheaper than $500 for a set of something that doesn't gargle sweaty monkey balls, but I am fucking CHAFFED to have to shell out for that.
When mine blew out I got replacement 225/45R17 high-performance all-season Toyo Extensa (?) tires for about $220 for the rears. That was FUN! Wwwweeee!!!!

Stock tires are fine for what they are coming with the car, but I'd never replace them with like again. Plus they're Low Rolling Resistance and I think that jacks up the price too.

How many miles did you have on the tire?

Warranty replacement depending on age/mileage on the tires.

Also, you can get a set of OEM wheels AND tires for $500.

Warranty doesn't apply to puncture wounds from road debris - which this definitely was. Unfortunately, no defect, just bad luck.

The car has about 3000 miles. If it weren't for other expenses this month (engagement ring), I'd have said, "FUCK IT," and plunked down for a set of Pilot Sports.

To add to the hilarity, no shops or dealerships (Toyota or Subaru) in the area (Seattle) stock this tire. They were all asking ~$240 for the tire (without install) with 3 - 5 days of lead time. I ordered from Tire Rack for $190, $15 shipping and delivery on Wednesday.

I'm lucky to have a DD so I don't have to worry about limping around on the donut.

Sounds fun. I didn't realize Michelin had a different warranty program for their tires. I just replaced a single Continental DW tire that received a nice puncture (by a wheel weight, of all things) for $30 for shipping and mounting/balancing costs. Continental has a 1 year or the first 2/32" of tread depth used warranty, which I just barely managed to qualify for by 1 month and the tire was on the line for 8/32" (came brand new with 10/32").

Went 407.5 miles on one full tank of gas. Mixed highway/street commutes.

I always figured that was possible. I was trying to test that out during my 10k mile road trip last year. Definitely gotta have the right tires (like the stock LRR ones). I'm planning on driving my BRZ to Jersey when I move next year, so I'm thinking of going with 225/40R18 Continental ExtremeContact DW tires for a good balance of dry and wet grip, plus weight and price. I don't think I'm going to get the same fuel efficiency though.

I think I would get around 370ish miles before I felt like I needed to fill up (when given a choice since I wouldn't do that in the middle of Canada). Since then I've determined that the needle can drop to the base of the letter "E" and you'll still have about a gallon of gas left in the tank. I have the receipts somewhere that show how many gallons I filled up from "empty".

Changed the display to show what gear I'm in. Turned it off after one trip because the font looks so stupid on those numbers

I've been wondering how far the needle can go before the tank is actually empty. Last week I went past the red empty line by a hair and I was panicked about running out of gas. I wonder where the official empty point is.

And I've been using the gear indicator since I discovered it

I think the needle stops right after the red line, but you still have gas in there at that point. I don't know if this is correct for the 86 twins or not, but I was told once that there's a small ball or object in the gas tank that floats with the gas to determine how much you have. Then, when you get to the bottom, the object hits the bottom and stops moving down but there's still gas in there, just not enough to keep it afloat.

Or maybe I'm crazy?
