Finally got my car dropped with some Eibach pro kit springs. Didn't blow the struts in the process and she rides like a dream now, much better than stock! Threw some white LEDs into my smoked sidemarkers while I was at it too.

the car rides better? so your saying i can lower my car and make the ride quality better? i would have figured that it would make the ride more harsh. its harsh enough rite now with the stock suspension and ride height, the roads suck in ny. so r u saying that it handles better or the ride quality is better? |

I've heard other people say the same thing, but I didn't believe it until I experienced it for myself. I've had a few lowered cars before, mostly on coilovers, and the ride was always harsher, but not so with these springs. They're better in every way. It actually surprised the shit out of me. I expected to get tossed around on every bump, but it just didn't happen. I even had to take 3 speedbumps and not only did I have no issue clearing them, the new springs took them better than my stock springs did.

Is blowing the struts a common problem when installing springs?

Homelink mirror rattle fix.
I installed the homelink mirror awhile back, but the mount adapter rattled afterwards. Today I fixed the rattle by tapping the adapter plate for the next size bigger screws:
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...40#post1033240 P.S. I thought the auto-dimming feature didn't work, but when I used a flashlight to shine into the rear-facing sensor while blocking the front facing sensor I found that it will dim. Maybe with my tinted windows and black interior the auto-dimming just doesn't normally trigger. |

Changed the oil & filter and installed my Fumoto Quick Change valve (6,500 miles). Removed the Dimple magnetic oil drain plug I installed at the first change at 1,300 miles. Here's what was stuck to the magnetic drain plug. What you see on the paper towel is the metal goo that I wiped off the plug.
Also installed my Dash Cover which fits really well. Made by DashCare.com and it is the #51 Black Velour material. Last edited by White64Goat; 06-29-2013 at 05:37 PM. |

Couple of things. Clear bra, and windows tinted yesterday. Today I switched out the stock exhaust tips with the DC Sports EX-1017B model tips that have an oval shape to them. I am thinking about different exhaust down the road, but this was a cheap and easy mod to tide me over:

Nothing spectacular, but about 2 hours of detailing work to make it shine like brand new. It was a fantastic way to spend my Saturday morning, believe it or not. Nice cup of coffee, and some Led Zeppelin playing in the garage.
