The link provided referred to sulfuric acid as being "odorless". Although acetic acid in concentration is certainly not something you want to mess with, its odor is something I would refer to as "sharp". Sulfuric acid in concentration ("fuming" sulfuric acid) is downright acrid and could damage the lining of your nose if you were dumb enough to take a big sniff.

Sulfides are not especially hazardous, but they stink like rotten eggs.

You beat me to it, but Yes, you would notice a difference as you lost your smell receptors and your nose melted off.

And I've been following the RCR build. They made it look simple at first, but my god is that a lot of work. Yay, less for me to do! It does go to show that even if you're going with an engine from the same manufacturer, there can be a lot of customization of... everything... required to make it fit. Also G is for grrrwrwrwrrrwrwrwrwrwrw.

For those that have the FT86/Velox rear diffuser, how do you guys clean it? It likes to collect dirt and water but it's so tight in there. It's hard to get your hand in there to wash/wipe it.

The convention center is on First (Cesar Chavez) and Red River, so it is a short walk to Sixth. Red River also has some venues.

Sixth Street is the big entertainment district. It has three distinct sections:


East 6th st. - headbanger clubs and other "interesting" types of music. East of I-35. A bit "scruffy" if you like that sort of atmosphere.


"Sixth Street" - The main section; clubs aimed at college students and 20 somethings. Very popular. From west of I-35 to Congress Ave.


"West Sixth Street" - More adult clubs and bars. These are the newer clubs and some are quite nice. This is where my wife and I like to go; not as noisy as the main section of Sixth Street. Not much live music though, which is mainly on the section between Congress and I-35.


West Fifth Street is now developing as an extension of the entertainment district.


A couple of suggestions:


Go to the bar at the Driskill Hotel (on Sixth near Congress). Great old fashioned Texas bar and one of the real architectural gems of 19th century Austin.


Antone's night club (also on the main part of Sixth) is a great music venue, with live music pretty much all the time.


For lunch or dinner, try to get over to the Serrano's restaurant on Red River between 11th and 12 Street. Sit outdoors. You won't regret it.


For a quick meal, go to the Iron Works, next door to the convention center on Red River. Texas BBQ and pretty good, if not the absolute best.
