Those are fun. I had a buddy, the service manager at the MC dealership I used to work at, had one with a rotary swap.

My favorite Sumurai engine swap was one I came across when doing some 4 wheeling near the Daniel Boone National Forest in Kentucky.

It had 3ft tall tractor tires and a Cummins diesel engine out of a Thomas school bus.

Let's just say it wasn't exactly street legal.

I wanted to Cummins 4BT my 4Runner but they are so expensive and heavy.

Got to see the new Subaru EV in person a week ago...stumbled across it completely by accident doing some testing at a track where we dropped our hauler off at. It was disguise wrapped and had the emblems covered but got a decent look at it alongside the current Forester from a couple hundred feet away. It appears slightly larger than the current Crosstrek and slightly smaller than the current Forester. Less boxy and less angular than the supposed "spy" rendering I posted earlier. Very quiet, as expected and looked like a cross between a Toyota and an Audi to me. Only got one phone pic, quality sucks because of the zoom, they kept moving the car away when we moved closer....LOL

You sure it's the Subaru? Could have the Forester as a benchmark?

Unsolicited opinion time that I feel like writing down yet expect no one to give a shit about.

Favorite cars to drive of those I've owned in the past 15 years:

1) Modified 2015 BRZ (suspension + brakes + SC)
2) Stock 2015 Fiesta ST
3) Stock 2020 Giulia Quadrifoglio
4) Stock 2019 WRX STI
5) Modified 2012 WRX (suspension only)
6) Stock 2008 WRX
532) Constantly broken 2003 Sentra SE-R Spec V (thing went through 3 engines in under 60k miles)

I feel so bad for any enthusiast who bought the 08 WRX only to see the new turbo for 09...
I know it's not uncommon, but it was a first for me to see happen. Then widebody in 11..

The whole reason I got a 2008 was because the prices tanked shortly after the 2009 came out. They later stabilized and I traded it in for $500 more than I paid for it with 25k more miles. When shopping things like Scion tCs, a 2008 WRX for the same price was an easy decision.

It is hard to get a leaf suspension setup under those that ride comfortable due to their height and wheelbase. The front shackle mount and rear spring hanger would have to pretty much cross to get enough length to them. That is why a lot of modded Sammie's get linked.

On Toyota's to get them to ride well lifted, you swap out the 47 inch rear leaf springs and run 63" chevy half ton truck springs. Then you put the 47 inch rears on the front(Called a RUF pack), which are about 2-2.5 longer then the stock fronts. Then they ride like a Cadillac.

lol it's okay I forgive you.

I did end up ordering one of those flashlights that you had in the EDC thread. Figured it would be good for a keychain light.
